sv_lan question

i saw somewere here that when creating a new server with bot and press sv_lan 1 or sv_lan 0 the server will be visible online and ppl can join. Is this true? it sounds easy and fun. Can you tell me if it is true? :-\ :-\

Yes, but you need to have some ports of your router forwarded.

 

www.portforward.com/cports.htm find cs and then choose your router's model.

Ok i found it and forwarded all the ports. now in the console i type sv_lan 1 or sv_lan 0? is this only for steam or non steam?

It's both for steam and non-steam.

Type sv_lan 0 to make your server public.
