L2j c1/c2 source?

Question

Posted

Hey guys, I have a bit of experience in the past with c4 and interlude sources and I was wondering if by any chance anyone has somewhere in his old files or knows where to find source files for l2j c1 or c2. I know back then probably there weren't stable releases and so on but I'm really interested in finding those files. The only files I did find was a compiled pack but half of the things were missing + there was no spawnlist etc.

Thanks for your time and have a nice day :))

As you mentioned back then nothing worked.
Even with the best non l2j datapack that existed at that time.
Luckily for you I have that datapack and also added some stuff like PvP / Karma from L2jFrozen.
Also contains some form of water and breathing by region.
L2j sources included. No compiled crap.

Server includes "crazy" fix for multiple clients from the same PC. 😛

In the past people used NetPro (not sure if its being used anymore)

Also I heard other people use phx for this, but dont have a link/tutorial of clean phx

Download links are down but I found this https://web.archive.org/web/20180627000323/http://netpro.revengineer.eu/protocols/c1_harbingers_of_war.html

it is a list of all packets client and server side 😉

last question, is there any easy way to understand the source code so you can edit/add/fix things or you need to break your head alone? haha possibly the second but any kind of tutorial would save time

As with any project there is no guide on implementing missing things,
and sadly most people that actually implement anything never share back.

The five major missing features are.

-Skills.

-Clans.

-Sieges.
-Quests.

-Geodata.

It may be more easy to downgrade my C4 branch to C1.

Then transfer the datapack info from C1 to that.

Yeah I figured all these things are missing but I will work on it 😉 I would really love some first steps guidance though on how to decipher the mechanics. Like what part of the code should I first look at so I can go step by step on how it works and how it calls other parts of the code? The gameserver script? Any tips are very welcome :))

For some reason I dont think you figured out anything by yourself. You cant even seem to know how to google basic stuff, and someone started spoonfeeding you and you cant stop asking for more.

You need to either spend your own time figuring everything out or you need to spend money for someone to do it for you. Stop expecting free stuff.

In forum people can only lead you onto a path, but you need to respect peoples time.

My advice for starting is this: You can debug the l2 client or you can debug the server. For l2 client debugging, you can use phx in order to check what packets the client is sending to server and what packets its receiving back from server. On serverside, you can launch the server on a modern IDE for example intellij idea and just add breakpoints in specific parts of codebase and by having a stacktrace, you can debug the whole proccess flow  of any mechanic and that way you can figure out whats happening. Its basics of coding, its not rocket science.

If you dont have any basics in java development or debugging then start learning from there. If you cant teach yourself then find a teacher and pay him. Like I said, people in forum will give you only breadcrumbs.

First of all I already did a build of the the code and I really figured what wasn't implemented. And before doing this thread I had googled everything I asked. As for people time, I always respect people who help others by pointing out but not babystep. As I thank you for doing that. I don't expect you or anyone to give all your hard earned knowledge for free. Yes I would like to know were to start but that's all. Thanks for your time, the attitude I didn't understand but thank you for the information anyway! Have a nice day 😉
