In specific situations every character class can use ultimates, you are totally non-logic.

Typical mind of you guys... thats why Lineage 2 game is dying...

You are saying that Original Balance is not Balance...

Original Puma Shoes are not Original.

I'm not trying to prove that balance exists or no, for me its clear... i'm not playing Official even if its free.

But i'm wondering what you guys think its balance?

why i trust my balance style?

is simple

with almost each class u can get over 500 points in oly or maybe 1k ,with almost each class ,u can beat ur anti with some luck, with almost each class u can be rank 1 in pvp *except for tanks, they are not meant to be top pvp* and ofc im not including classes like summoner or blabla ,im talking about top dps classes here

i only saw this kind of balance on russian servers and ive played a lot of them ,i trust their source ,ive played sph/gh/pw/sk/gladi ,ive made over 1k points with all of them in oly and on pvp ,i was like 2nd,3rd cuz i could not compete with those russian nolifer freaks that played 20/24 pvp without oly etc xD

u get my points ,thats balance for me ,so far i havent saw this balance on "NORMAL freyas/hi5" (well ive mostly played epilogue/gracia final) ,and interlude is forgotten client for me ,i am not even looking back

That's my damn point. Im not saying that original balance is not balance.

IT NEVER EXISTED. THE GAME WAS NEVER BALANCED AND WASNT EVNE MEANT TO BE.

Deal with it. I don't stay talking to mindless guys that can't undestand things they never experienced.

So each class can beat each directly say.

i gaved an example that trickster could beat a dagger if dagger not use UE and implements/land a seed on him while he run ,then dagger is get beated but for that u need luck for seed and make sure dagger have no skills on

And ,i writed my example about slh against dagger there

so basically this is best balance u could ever dream and ul be able to find it on best russian server and on my server soon

oh ,and this is a rly smart part of what i could tell u

who gives a damn about l2off now rly? im talking about l2j with full enchanted armors etc

when other says their server is balanced 95% ,it means ,it sucks and they have no clue about l2 ,when u see someone telling they worked hard for balance ,have experienced players ,developers etc and prove it,then that source is trustable

they say 2525256% balanced but they dont show what they did ,they dont explain how things works and there is more if u want me to explain about these hypocrits that release server after server just for some money without even touching tah damn files, excuse my term if u consider ur self an hypocrite that release random servers for some euro xD

Why do u use all topics where u reply to talk about "your server", trashtalking about "the other servers", and things like that?

Stay On-Topic and stop replying things that have nothing to do with the conversation, please...

Ofc balance exist on official since there are no crapy buffs / dance , so support class is a must on mass pvp and boosted on 1vs1 it's how l2 should be you can't say that a hierophant is useless vs a player who has no buffs :S

This discussion is pointless the bottom line is lineage2 has too many variables to consider on pvp. Thats the main reason it was never and it will never be balanced.

Lineage 2 was made more for PvE than for PvP.

Balance doesn't exist since there is a different REAL person behind any character, also anything is influenced by many factors such as skill mastery, magical/physical critical, debuff landed and so on.

However, every update in retail brought a new best class among the others.

About:

I'm trying to say is that people doesn't even actually know what they want, since they doesn't know what balance is.

Players know already what they want in every server and for sure it is playing a class which is the best over the others.

The balance means that there are no class that can kill everything else. Thats Over Power.

Lel

And if every class can beat every other class? All classes overpowered?

Nothing worse than Rock Paper Scissor balance in an RPG where you are locked into playing 4 classes out of 30+ on a single char.

IMO the issue is that people compare classes. Raw power is the only thing theory can account for. And precisely because of the stupid 1999 cast speed and 1500 atk speed bullsht is that raw power has higher value in players eyes. Then Devs and Admins get the same impression.

See, just because a Judicator has sht for damage and has low atk skills and has 15s buffs doesn't mean it's underpowered. It's underpowered relative to a particular system. 30 buff slots, stupid stats, perma top tier gear on every opponent.

The weight of things change as you change the environment (buffs/gear).

If people had to choose 15 buffs, if armor and weapons had sustainability costs so that they were afraid to fight in s84 every time and if atk spd and cst spd were slow enough for skill players to react to a high value ability of their opponent to use a counter ability - PvP in this game would have become infinitely better.

But sheep follow other sheep - people will keep playing with 30 buff slots and infinite MP and other nonsense all kids nowadays want and will keep complaining about balance.

This is inbalanced in raw power. But it is overcome by player skill. As you make things faster and increase the raw ceiling you weed out the factor of skill and you get situations where no matter what a Dreadnaught, Maestro, or Summoners do, they won't beat other "true DDs". And guess what other people tell you? They're not PvP classes...

IT doesnt exist because noone is smart enough or have patience to do it

I will share the secret

first of all

copy formulas from l2off on skill landrates, dmg to your server ,make sure is approximative

second of all ,you need to adapt l2off balance to pvp server (after u get full hp from armor bonus ,it wont be balance anymore ,well better than random default balance from javas ofc ,still much better ,way much better ,in that case ,take formulas from a russian pvp server ,their pack is private creation that adapted l2off balance to customised pvp server and balance is almost good as l2 in a lowrate server [in that case]

now third step

You can add skills like resist bow/dagger blabla to each class (but that mean u have to rework classes 24x24=576 or 32x32=1024 times rework each class and with your self and 2-3 more players just in case with 5-6 years who aknowledge this game perfectly ,can make true balance but this require shitload of patience and may take months

And ofc ,u wont achieve perfect balance but close to it ,where all classes have chance to beat all classes (most of ppl dont like this concept) so preferable choose a less better balance where people enjoy to get pked by their classes and enjoy pking their toy classes and etc but where u can beat 80% classes easy and other 20% with huge luck/noobs

Well if there wasn't a balance in official there would only be 3 classes each of them with the same stats.

Balance in official means knowing everything about your class, if there's 2 partys pvping for over 20 minutes that's called balance, they knew their class since in official every class as a role in the party and they could keep being alive.

Now if there's a party killing other partys, well you can't call that unbalance but knowing how to play.

The balance always came to the players and how they choose to play. True, there's classes that just can't kill every other class, that's part of the balance because Lineage II was never meant to be played 1 vs 1, we do it and if we die by a class which wasn't supposed to kill us doesn't mean that there wasn't a balance in the fight because it all comes to which one is playing their class better.

    • Kroma — Lineage II Interlude on LU4 Client (Latest client)   I'm selling this project. Here's what it actually is and what's been done.   This is a few months of work, most of it on the reverse engineering side. I built it because I wanted to open my own Interlude server on it. That's not happening any more — I've moved on to other projects and don't have the free time left to take it the rest of the way, so I'd rather it went to someone who will.   The idea was to take the modern LU4 client and make it run an Interlude version of the game. Not a reskin of an old client — the actual current client, playing Interlude, against a server I wrote. That's what this is, and it works end to end: the client boots, authenticates, connects, and you play. There are six repositories. Roughly, it splits into three kinds of work: reverse engineering the client, writing the server, and rebuilding the client's own content so it matches Interlude.   Fully reverse engineered   The client's protocol wasn't documented anywhere, so it was derived from scratch off real traffic. I built a sniffer (bypassing anticheat packet encryption) that drops into the client's binaries folder and dumps live traffic to disk, then a separate Java toolchain that decrypts those captures — login and game traffic, both directions. Everything the server knows about the protocol came out of that loop: capture, decrypt, read, implement, test against the real client.   On top of that there's a native x64 hook and injector in C++. It points the client at your own servers and handles its authentication and session layer, plus a few client-side stability fixes that were needed to keep it from falling over once it's talking to something that isn't the official backend. The hooking is pattern-based rather than address-based, so a client patch doesn't automatically break it.   The reverse-engineering notes are in the repos — the patterns, the disassembly, the decompiled functions, what each one does and why it's hooked. That documentation is a real part of what's being sold; it's the difference between inheriting a working system and inheriting a black box.   The server   Interlude ruleset, aCis lineage, but substantially rewritten and extended to speak the LU5 client's protocol with modern features like Party matching, Offline shops or Mailbox. The geodata has been updated according to some layout changes in LU4 cities. There's also a separate login server handling the client's auth flow.   Customized client to adapt to Interlude   This is the part people underestimate. The retail client ships retail content — retail NPCs, retail items, retail zones, retail UI. All of that had to be reshaped. The whole client-side pipeline is scripted: extract the retail PAKs, apply every edit from data files, rebuild, drop the result back into the game folder. 23 purpose-built C# tools, ~6,700 lines, organised into three pipelines that are guaranteed not to write over each other. There's a documented checklist for regenerating everything from scratch when a new patch drops. The important thing is that none of it is hand-editing. Every change is a line in a data file. When the client updates, you re-run the scripts instead of redoing the work from memory.   All NPC / item / drop lists updated according to Interlude   The client's own data tables were rewritten from the real Interlude client data files — `npcname-e`, `itemname-e`, `skillname-e`, `systemmsg-e`, `npcgrp`. That means roughly 6,470 NPC and skill name/title updates and about 4,000 Drops/Spoils rows written directly into the client's `NPCDataTable` and `SkillTable`, so the client shows Interlude names, Interlude item text, Interlude system messages, and Interlude drop and spoil lists. There are also custom NPC rows on top of that, plus 304 game action rewrites.   Opened the catacombs   In the LU4 client the catacombs and necropolises are unusable — flooded, unlit, and with holes in the geometry. All three were fixed: Water removed. Water exclusion volumes were placed over all 12 of them: Rifts, Apostate, Patriots, Devotion, Dark Omens, Heretics, Pilgrims, Saints, Worship, Martyr, Forbidden Path and Witch. This was more involved than it sounds — the volumes' scale is ignored at runtime, so the tool picks the best-fitting native template per hole, and nearby lakes and rivers are separate water bodies that have to be excluded individually or you get leftover water borders. Lights added. About 28,900 light definitions imported into the client's level files. Missing walls fixed. Mesh actors replaced and spawned to close the gaps in the geometry.   Removed the modern "slop" features from the UI   The LU4 client is full of things that have no business in an Interlude server, and most of them are wired into the UI. Those are stripped out: The assistant manager — the auto-hunt / auto-play slot on the XP bar Vitality*and the XP lock button The fatigue system — updated the format to a regular VIP format The in-game browser and in-game radio buttons The "Learn Skill" tab in the player skills window Removals are scripted by path, so they survive a client patch and are trivially reversible if a buyer wants any of them back.   Reworked the UI toward an actual Lineage II feel   The original LU4 UI looks AI-generated. It doesn't feel like Lineage II. A good part of it has been reworked toward the classic look — the menu button row rebuilt as a wrapping layout with a proper background, the self status and target windows cleaned up, and 590 asset field edits covering textures, positions, colours, text and compiled Blueprint literals.   This part is not finished, and I want to be straight about that But the tooling to continue it is all there, and it's the good kind of tooling: you can target any widget property in any UI asset by dotted path, remove widgets by path without knowing their auto-generated slot names, and edit text that's dynamically bound through Blueprint bytecode rather than stored as a plain property. Continuing the UI work means adding lines to a data file, not reverse engineering anything new.   Other client-side work   A custom login scene, built in a real Unreal Engine project that's included Interlude music restored, plus ambient sound work (cities only for now) Custom splash and branding   What's included   All six git repositories, the Unreal Engine project and its custom assets, all the tooling — injector, hook, sniffer, decryptor, asset editor — every data set including geodata, XML, HTML and the SQL schema, the build and repack scripts, and the per-repo technical documentation including the reverse-engineering notes.   Happy to answer questions or show it running.   Gallery
