I have seen hell knights in olympiad when they are vs mages, they start the fight with major arcana set(the HK's) for some reason? What's the benefit from that??

are you sure that is major arcana? Because i cant see the reason of wearing Major arcana on tank

Actualy Gries is right... it is for that +7 speed bonus that may help in some cases. But sometimes fighter classes wear robes just to buff themself (more mana when wearing robe so when they equip their light/heavy set they have full mana)

Also major arcana set gives resistance to magic skill interruption, so an HK can easily heal himself by divine heal or augment  with less skill interruption and higher damage by drain health.

Go to 3:35, when the HK is vs an ES.

standard... he casts mental shield to remove it from 1st cancel so all debuffs land

They were major arcana cuz of speed and high chance on debuffs. They use them vs buffers often cuz of block ww.
