eunusunt Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Hi, I'm having a problem that keeps persisting and it's driving me nuts. As the title says, I can't connect to some of the Freya/H5 private servers...it gets stuck at "connecting" after I enter username and password. I can play any server with the Interlude client, but not with the Freya one. I've been playing private servers for years, I know how to patch and connect and whatnot...but this problem is new for me. There must be some problem with the connections on my end, but I can't fathom what that might be. I'm using AVG Free antivirus, with stock Windows firewall. The main antivirus resident shield is turned off, as I had some problems with some of the patches. Is it possible that a virus is blocking my connections with only some of the servers? I was thinking of trying to connect with a bot, maybe the problem is the client itself, but I don't want to get banned before getting the chance to actually play lol...but eventually I will try it if nothing else works, just to see if I can connect at all. Any idea is welcome (short of reinstalling Windows), thanks.
BonJovi® Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I had faced the same problem years ago, well If I remember correctly I just re-install my client and re-added the system and it worked
eunusunt Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 I've just reinstalled it and tried to connect to servers I couldn't, and still nothing :( I checked the netstat command in cmd, there's no connection with the said servers..but it does come up when I play (already in game) on servers I can connect. I don't know if this info helps.
BonJovi® Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Try to reset your rooter and connect or just login is down or try to use a different system a clean one.
Joκκєrino Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Try to reset your rooter and connect or just login is down or try to use a different system a clean one. ..or try changing your DNS .
Szakalaka Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 i have had similar problem, and the soluion was to lower the level of "protection" in my router, now i canconnect everywhere
eunusunt Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 I'm afraid I can't do any of that, using an automated username+password connection, as per my ISP. try to use a different system a clean one. Each p. server uses their own system folder as you well know.. So I guess my only alternative would be reinstalling windows...oh I hate having to do that.
Sick Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Did you turn off your firewall?I had this problem with l2mafia a couple of years ago, when i turned off my firewall it was working fine.
eunusunt Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Just within the near IP range/local users, computers are full of malicious software 'cause people are not that computer savvy as to installing decent antiviruses and whatnot, so I'm really not keen on turning the firewall off. Any protection is some protection. And I've never had this problem before with the windows firewall.
lord_rex Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 some tips: 1. reinstall your client 2. disable firewall 3. disable virus scanner 4. it's only wih lineage2?
