Summoners,

 

If you've been playing online games for any length of time, you probably know that most games eventually has to deal with scum of the earth cheaters that enjoy ruining your experience. League of Legends is one of the largest games on the planet, and the downside is that there are more people actively working to find exploits that create an unfair advantage for other players.

 

That's bull****, and we're not going to allow it.

 

We take this seriously.Nothing is more important to us than the sanctity of competitive play. As soon as we discovered the issue, we immediately dropped everything to find both immediate and permanent fixes. I'm happy to report that the immediate fix has been implemented, and we'll be restarting all regions this evening to add some redundancy which prevent similar exploits in the future.

 

Is this the end of people trying to ruin your experience? No. But we're committed to stopping this kind of behavior in it's tracks, and are discussing ways to increase our monitoring and development as part of that commitment. We've traced use of this exploit back to 622 players in North America and Europe. All of which have been permaforever banned.

 

This kind of stuff is unacceptable, and will never be tolerated by Riot Games. For those of you who have been reporting the issue, thank you! We've been deleting all threads about it in the forums to keep visibility low, but we've definitely appreciated you making us aware.
