I looked around for an IRC channel that was specific to this community in general. However I couldn't find one. For anybody that is fimilar with irc I've created a channel on irc.freenode.net called #mxc-l2j ( irc.freenode.net/mxc-l2j ).

For those of you who aren't fimilar with irc it stands for internet relay chat. It goes way back but it's a nice way to run a chat room. If you're looking for fast advice on a problem, maybe just input for others, or really just want to actively chat with other members of this specific section of the community then try it out!

1) To connect you need an IRC client. A very popular one is mIRC: (http://www.mirc.com/). As far as I know it's only for Windows. However for Linux users you can use xchat (http://xchat.org/). For mac users, sorry I'm not fimilar there but you can check out this list http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/mac/.

2) (My advice from here is going to be mIRC specific, but if you're trying other clients I can always lend a hand). At the first startup you'll be greated with a screen asking for your name and such:

i0zsL.jpg

Nickname is ofcourse similar to your forum name. The field alternative is incase somebody is using the name you filled in the first field. The other two fields are self explanitory. You don't have to be honest.

3) After filling in your information you'll have a white screen with a white bar at the bottom for text entry. In the bottom here type this:

/connect irc.freenode.net

4) When you're connected to the server type

/join #mxc-l2j

If everything goes OK, you should see something like:

xjVL4.jpg

Hopefully I'll see some people in there. Otherwise I'll just be here idling hanging out by my lonesome.

ORIGINAL POST:

I tried to dig around to see if I could find any references to one.

I figured that l2j has it's own channel and also maxcheaters, but does the l2j development section of max cheaters specifically have one anywhere?

the l2j development section of max cheaters

Because there's one ? /onequarterjoke

My name is Tryskell, not "l2j development section of max cheaters" /secondquarterjoke

The 2 others parts are kept for future.

And where did you see MxC got one ?

Haha, I didn't know if there was one I just assumed that maybe there was one somewhere.

It would be nice to hang on an irc channel when I'm bored.

Well nothing on Announcements, so probably answer is no.

Anyway, nothing blocks you to make one non official if you want ^^.

That's true. I'm just wondering if anybody was around. Though I could start one.

For anybody else out there that cares: what server do most users here hang around on?

Bha let's say l2j one to easy switch from one to another, irc.freenode.net

I can't promise I will stay online everytime but if there is good participation and not only people who ask crappy things/not related to l2dev, I will give a try.

I'd like to find one l2j related community that isn't like this haha.

I created channel #mxc-l2j on irc.freenode.net. I'm AFK at the moment but maybe it'll take some interest.

After about ~24 hours, nobody has joined haha.

I'll chalk this one up as a failed experiment.

I guess no one knows how to use it, and the thread wasn't stickied + title of thread is kinda random.

Change for "L2J LIVE HELPDESKING IRC [NO EXPLOIT]", you will see you will have visitors. I joke ofc, but that thread is lost in others threads, and no IRC explanation :).

Format your first post (with how to... You know...) and title subject, and I will sticky it.

Topic stickied :).

If you want live interactions with L2J developers :

  • questions you could normally ask on Help section
  • ask of advices
  • speak of all and nothing

go on IRC. IRC gives an "instant" layer a forum can't provide.

Not a bad ideea , but lets hope this chatroom wont kill the l2j section help.

The point is to reward ppl who log with fast help, or simply to chat, share ideas (without having to use boring PMs) and so on. Added to that, you can't share through an IRC, and ppl aren't on everytime.

A forum can't replace an IRC, as an IRC can't replace a forum. Simple, they are 2 different tools.

And atm the IRC is kinda empty, only me and dpbBryan (but we talk of gameplay and pokemons colors).

    • LIVE VERIFICATION? SUMSUB? “IMPOSSIBLE”? ▪ Spoiler: it is possible — if you know who to work with. A client came in with a task to pass **live verification** on **WantToPay**, a Telegram virtual card service. On the platform side — **Sumsub**: liveness check, SMS, manual review. “Fast” and “by eye” simply don’t work here. › What was done: → analyzed the verification scenario and Sumsub requirements → built the correct flow: phone number, email, timing → **completed live verification remotely, without account handover** → handled SMS and confirmation codes → brought the process to final approval ▪ Result: → verification passed → access granted → no flags or repeat requests ▪ Live verification is not luck. It’s scenario-based preparation — not hope. › TG: @mustang_service ( https:// t.me/ mustang_service ) › Channel: Mustang Service ( https:// t.me/ +6RAKokIn5ItmYjEx ) *All data is published with the client’s consent.* #verification #sumsub #livecheck #kyc #case
    • IMPORTANT INFO: In a few days, I will switch to completely new code, written from scratch with a new download system, patch building and management system. The Updater will become true 2026 code with "foolproof systems". I'm going to create a Discord server for customers to request new ideas and features. FIRST CUSTOMERS ARE ALREADY USING THE NEW UPDATER ON LIVE SERVERS! Watch this topic for upcoming info because the new updater is around the corner! Yes, you can still use self-update on the previous updater! No, the new updater won't be compatible with the old patch system! A new build is required, but players who already have game files won't have to download the entire patch again! New templates and updates to existing templates are coming soon! Sneak peek:
