  5. Royal Club's sister team LMQ Tian Ci has relocated to North America with the assistance of new title sponsor iBUYPOWER. The team will look to compete in the new 2014 Challenger Series. Chinese professional League of Legends team LMQ Tian Ci, considered a sister team to Royal Club, has relocated to Southern California and will attempt to enter Riot's new 2014 Challenger Series (previously announced to be sponsored by Coke Zero). The organization picked up a new title sponsor -- iBUYPOWER -- who assisted the team in their relocation. The previous roster, consisting of Zhou "NoName" Qi-Lin, Yu "XiaoWeiXiao" Xian, Li "SWXG Wei-Jun, and Zhang "Mor" Hong-Wei will be welcoming Xiao "GoDlike" Wang, formerly of Royal Club's World Championships roster, to the team in the position of top laner. LMQ Tian Ci was previously known as Royal Club Tian Ci and was the substitute and training team for the Royal Club team that competed at Season 3 World Championships. The team left the organization, but is still sponsored by Tian Ci, the owner of Royal Club Huang Zu. LMQ iBUYPOWER arrived in the United States on the 15th of this month and will be moving into a new gaming house in Hacienda Heights. While the team's initial goal is to make it into the 2014 Challenger Series, their eventual hope is to earn a position into the North American LCS later this year. In a translated interview, Eno Li, owner of LMQ, told onGamers the team wishes to compete in North America because it has, "some of the best teams in [the] world, the best tournament, the best media, and the best fans. Lastly, the fans are very enthusiastic and give them strength when they are competing. They love it here, so we came over." Li previously worked with the Chinese team in the Shanghai All Stars games and with both OMG and Royal Club during this year's World Championships. He says the team "knows there are a lot of strong teams here in North America, such as TSM, CLG, C9, and XDG.GG" and that their players "watch their games and learn from them. All these teams have very good strategies, and have their own distinct play style... ...different from Chinese teams." The team, "would like to compete with them, learn from them, and improve together." He says the organization knows there will be obstacles faced -- diet, environment, cultural differences and language -- while adapting to life in America. He believes the team will adjust to the first three rapidly, and is planning on having their players learn English quickly. On the matter of language, Li says, "the most important part is to have them be able to communicate with North American players and fans, so we will really spend some time on learning English. We also will be getting a lot of help from iBUYPOWER to help us adapt to America." To this end, iBUYPOWER's Marketing and Esports Specialist Derrick Truong will also be working as the Marketing Director for the LMQ organization. Speaking to onGamers, Truong said, "My role will be to acquire sponsorships, create content with the team, and help with personal branding of players." So far, iBUYPOWER has assisted the team by finding their gaming house and will be providing the players with computer systems. When asked if there was any chance that Royal Club star player Uzi may be joining the team in the future, Li said, "We have a great partnership with Royal Club. Before we came over, we reached out to Uzi through Royal, and he is very interested in coming to compete in North America. He really missed the whole atmosphere and great fans at Worlds. He is focusing on LPL Spring Split for now, but when Summer Split comes, we will try our best to reach out to him and hopefully have him transferred over to compete in North America." http://www.ongamers.com/articles/chinese-professional-lol-team-lmq-tian-ci-moves-to-na-with-new-title-sponsor-ibuypower/1100-395/
  6. With the 2014 competitive season on the horizon, preparations are underway. At 11:59am PST on January 3rd, 2014, we’ll be taking the best of the best ranked 5s challenger teams to participate in the first Challenger Series of 2014! We’ll have a lot more information for you in the next week or two – including structure, prizes, and more – but we wanted to remind everyone to keep their attention on the ranked 5s Challenger tier. The next LCS Champions could rise from those ranks, and you’ll want to be there from the beginning. Also for anyone wondering, the Challenger Series will be the only way for teams to qualify into the LCS Promotion Tournament, so this will be the place to watch for rising stars. For all of you teams already making the climb to Challenger, remember that you’ll need to be LCS ready (you can read up on the LCS ruleset here) to qualify for the Challenger Tournament – including having three members that are (or will be) eligible to play in the LCS, and are all in the same region in which the series is taking place (we’ll be checking!). So remember, that cutoff date is 11:59am PST on January 3rd, 2014 for your team to get high enough on the Ranked 5s Challenger ladder. We’ll have more info soon, so keep pushing in the meantime! http://euw.lolesports.com/articles/ladder-freeze-2014-challenger-series

  8. Yesterday KMT (Kiedyś Miałem Team) beat 3-0 Ninjas in Pyjamas and advanced to EU LCS Spring Season 4. Many people don't know anything about them and they are pretty well known players: Current line-up: Celaver: AD Carry Overpow: Mid Lane Xaxus: Top Lane Jankos: Jungler Vander: Support Team Achievements: Qualified for LCS Spring Season 4 by LCS Europe Season 4 Spring Promotion (3:0 vs Ninjas in Pyjamas) 2nd at Intel Extreme Masters Season VII - Global Challenge Sao Paulo (0:2 vs Incredible Miracle) - $ 8,500 2nd at LCS Season 4 Spring Promotion Qualifier Gamescom 2013 (0:2 vs Copenhagen Wolves) - $ 7,500 5th/6th at Intel Extreme Masters Season VII - World Championship (0:2 vs CJ Entus Blaze) - $ 6,900 1st at DreamHack Bucharest 2013 (2:0 vs Copenhagen Wolves) - $ 5,500 2nd at DreamHack Winter 2013 (1:2 vs SK Gaming) - $ 5,250 1st at ESL Major Series Spring 2013 Nordic & East (2:1 vs MeetYourMakers) - $ 3,250 1st at ESL Pro Series Poland VII (2:0 vs Pulse eSports) - $ 3,220 2nd at ESL Pro Series Poland VI (0:2 vs MeetYourMakers) - $ 1,560 1st at CyberGamer SteelSeries LoL Challenge (3:1 vs TCM-Gaming) - $ 1,300 1st at Cybersport League 2013 (2:0 vs MeetYourMakers) - $ 1,250 Qualified for LCS Summer Promotion Season 3 by LCS Season 3 Ranked 5s Promotion Qualifier (2:0 vs TCM-Gaming) History: Roots of the team can be found in Team Acer Poland, team that you might know from Season 2 EU Regionals. First version of squad included Erot1c (support, now retired), Xaxus (jungle, now KMT), Creaton (AD Carry, now ALTERNATE), niQ760 (Top Lane, teamless) and Overpow (mid, now KMT). Before European Challenger Circuit: Poland team decided to kick Overpow, Xaxus and Eroti1c and pick up Absolute Legends trio: Celaver, SuperAze and Puki Style (you might remember that this AL line-up had 5-6th place at DH Summer 2012 falling out of the group with M5 and CLG.eu, they had 7k gold advantage over CLG.eu and if they manage to hold it we wouldn't see an epic comeback of CLG.eu in final versus M5. But well, they didn't :<). Xaxus and Overpow decided to create their own team and competed at IEM VII Singapore as EloHell.net. After the tournament the line-up disbands and formed once again as: Celaver: mid ArQuel: AD Carry Overpow: jungle Elendix: support Xaxus: top The team was doing really good but were always rank #2 in Poland after MYM so they were not as hype as they could. December, 15th, they joined Anexis eSports and later at January 2013 they kicked Elendix to replace him with Eroti1c. They had really hard group in LCS Spring Season 3 Promotion (Fnatic, Team ALTERNATE and Giants!) and they didn't qualified for LCS. As Anexis they had gaming house in Wroclaw,Poland (Back in Spring S3 they were first Amateur Team to have one). Their first premier achievement was 2nd place at IEM VII - Sao Paulo where they lost in final versus Korean Incredible Miracle 0-2. The next tournament you might know them is IEM Season VII - World Championship where Anexis manage to beat such a giants as SK Telecom T1, MeetYourMakers and SK Gaming to advance to the playoffs where they lost vs CJ Blaze. After the tourney guys decided to kick ArQuel and pick up Grom for a support role (Overpow go mid, Celaver go ADC, Erotic go jungle). Later that month they kicked Grom to pick up LeoFromKorea. They didn't manage to qualify for LCS once again (this time Summer S3). They won LCS Season 3 Ranked 5s Promotion Qualifier (2;0 in final vs TCM) but couldn't make it through Samurai in Jeans. After that they had really good time online winning for example EMS Spring 2013. Later that time they kicked LeoFromKorea and Erot1c to pick-up niQ760 and SuperAze. With the new line-up team decided to prepare really well for Spring S4 qualifiers and focused on Challenger Tier tournaments. The first good sign was winning DreamHack Bucharest 2013 where they beat 2:0 Copenhagen Wolves in Final as H2k-Gaming. Before the qualis they also were 2nd at Gamescom Spring Promotional Qualifier (losing 0:2 vs CW), 2nd at DreamHack Winter 2013 (losing 1:2 vs SK, being 1:0 ahead and throwing realllyyyyy hard) and dominating local scene by beating MYM at Cybersport League 2013. About the players: Celaver - he was really good Mid Laner back in Season 2 and he was really good back in Galio/Orianna mid meta. Then he didn't fit into assassin role and changed into AD Carry. His main and best champion is Caitlyn. He started his career in BenQDELTAeSPORTS, then was playing in sucessful online team along for example Creaton (team called HCL Gaming), then in Absolute Legends, Team Acer and Clan Poland). Overpow - was considered to be one of the best European players at Heroes of Newerth. He placed first at DreamHack 2010 and second at NASL with Online-Kingdom. He was very successful player and he competed along many pro Dota players etc. He is known for his great play by Katarina and Kayle. He is really good on asssassins like KhaZix or Zed. Before he was playing as jungler and was really impressive on Amumu and Xin Zhao. Vander - most of his career playing as AD Carry. He started in the same team like Celaver (BenQDELTAeSPORTS). Then you might know him from teams like EloHell (S2 EU Regionals along Shushei, they played vs M5), Mousesports, Millenium (his debut as support) and Eternity Gaming (DH Summer 2013). He was high challenger for most of the season and is known for strong mechanics. Jankos - he was always considered as huge talent and the first jungler to outscale Mokatte on Polish Scene. Before he was playing with Team Mistral (they lost 1-2 at Lille Promotion vs ALTERNATE) and GF-Gaming. He was picked by H2k-Gaming before DH:Bucharest and they manage to win the event by beating Copenhagen Wolves (2-0). Likes to play really agressive junglers such as Elise, Lee Sin or Evelynn. Xaxus - voted as IEM Season VII - Global Challenge Sao Paulo and known for his really wise play especially on Rumble. Now he really prefer sustain tanks. He was also playing jungle before in Team Acer but he had problems with communication (not speaking to much in the game) so he switched to top. http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1szoc4/if_you_dont_know_kmt_you_should_read_this/
