I wanna start a server of my own, but I don't understand anything about compiling, or whatever... so could someone recommend me a good book 'For Dummies' (you know, the brand?) , something like "Java for Dummies"? I've searched on dummies.com official site, but they have like 30 different books when I search "java"..could someone pick me a good book and let me know which one it is? thanks!

Hey everyone , first of all I would like to say that I'm new in server-creation, so I need a little push, someone with a certain expertise here on the subject that could teach me the way to become a good developer and all that. :) Firstly, I don't understand the differences between 'projects'. For example, L2JServer and L2JFree. Secondly, I don't know how to use the already compiled revision to make a Gracia Epilogue Server, since I don't even know what a revision is. I tried following a guide (''Compiling using Eclipse'' or something like that), but some parts didn't match the folders and files I downloaded on the latest L2JServer revision. As far as I know, L2JServer is the best 'project', so I was wondering if someone could add me on msn, or something like that, to help me out creating my own server? I'd appreciate it a lot! Thanks! :)

If I download the latest revision, and start building up my server from there, what should I do when a new revision comes out?

Hey I'm new in Java and all that, so it's safe to say I don't understand s**t about creating a server from scratch, by compiling it. Everyone says it is best not to use a Preconfigured Pack, so I won't. Anyway, could anyone point me out a way to use these 'Revisions' things, which I don't know what they are, and how to set up a server using the files posted here? I've searched the forum, but I didn't find an easy newbie tutorial, could someone help me out? Thanks.

Yea people, please stick this post, this is very important question :o But not sure anyway, since its such an important question, it has probably been discussed before.. xD Anyways, gonna search before giving my whole opinion, although since I'm a newbie at this server-creating deal, I go for L2Java since it's easier (I think) and all that.. :)
