While that is true with hosting websites etc from massive cluster providers. I'm talking more about renting a dedicated server which gives you your own hardware/rack space, deploying esxi on it which gives you full control over your VMs and their hardware resources. I don't see any downsides to this. Basically it gives you more options, full control, ability to run effectively multiple servers on one dedicated server and none the less easiest migration options if you ever decide to change host provider.

Hehe it kinda went out of topic there didn't it :) I agree with using Raid 1 in this case though. And as I mentioned before, backing up daily db dump to cloud isn't a bad idea either.

I work in IT infrastructure, if you use proper virtual environments then it shouldn't be a problem. Now this is not related to L2 at all. Currently got over 500 virtual servers, anything from high traffic APP servers to high CPU/RAM consuming databases... list goes on and on, no issues at all. Actually virtual hardware works more efficient than if you ran everything off the physical server. It all depends on the setup and configuration.

SAN + Raid 5 if you got money to spend. Otherwise, Raid 1 is quite alright with 2x SAS or just 2x normal HDD. Also to be on the safe side, cloud storage backups for database. If you use ESXi I'd recommend setting up daily snapshots of the VM which stores it on another datastore than the vmdk.

Some might think that we are crazy with 1x Adena rate on a 35x exp/sp rated server. This would indeed be very crazy if we didn't adjust the prices in our GM shop. We have seen so many servers saying they are balanced and yet the economy of the game is influenced, which often results in the need of having "Gold Bars". On L2 Ark, Adena will actually be a currency that has value. Want an example? An S Grade weapon with SA will cost you 1 million Adena. Sounds like nothing? Haha well that was quick. Oh well, I can only take it as a compliment for us to have a nice website. I suggest you wait until our launch though, you haven't seen our user profile page yet, that one is quite nice if I may say so myself. Then again, nothing you can really benefit from using ripped files as functions won't work at all.

First picture is after the msn conversation we had... Since he didn't fix it after the msn conversation, I took it to MXC pm's. I couldn't find my latest pm to him where it said that I'll give him 1 week to reply or fix it, otherwise I'll report him as a scammer.. gave him like 1-2 months. As you can see in the 2nd picture, on the date, I still have a negative credit balance on paypal.

Alright so I sold a source to him, he paid and everything was good. Few months after the "trade", paypal contacted me saying that someone (johnscott) paid me with a stolen creditcard, and now they want the money back, so I basically owe paypal money. I contacted johnscott and asked him what's going on, he said that his creditcard got stolen, but he did in fact pay me with his creditcard and I shouldn't have to pay him back. He told me that he will take care of it with paypal, so I don't have to have - on my account... I've given him months now, he now ignores my PM's.. So I thought I should warn all of you guys... Don't trust this guy.

So you want someone, to first design a nice website which takes atleast 5 hours, if you know what you're doing. Then you want someone to code it all together, takes about 3 hours, depending if it's php or html (with css on either). Then you want someone to make scripts for it, takes about 3 hours just that to do whatever script you want. And you're willing to pay 30 euros, for 11 hours of work. 2.7 euros an hour. That's about the same as the chinese kids that puts together iphones and xbox 360's get... You're asking for someone who has spent years and years developing skills in this area, to make a website for you, almost for free, so let me ask you, what's your charity's name?
