The online count fluxuates a bit. Low numbers are in the mid 20's, weekend numbers are currently in the 75 range. I expect the player base to get a lot larger once gracia final support is complete. Right now there's a lot of failed logins from gracia final clients, so those people aren't able to connect as of yet. As far as crashes and lag, nada. The server is custom built by me. Dedicated dual core E5200 running at 3Ghz with 8Gb of ram and Win2k3. Nightly backups of the server files and of the database itself are automated and done to a remote storage device. The handful of players who have had lag (and I do mean a handful, there have been very few), I've worked with them doing traceroutes and whatnot and always found that the reason they lagged was because of network problems on their end (typically they or someone on their network was torrenting or whatnot so their connection limits would spike and lag them out).

Was I the only one who misread this as "make your own poptart"? Now I'm hungry. :(

l2inc is one... personally i'm not a fan of the admin because of how he behaves as a l2j dev but whatever. just fair warning, expect bugs on any gracia final server. packet support is STILL being worked on.

What are you talking about? L2J has surpassed official files for a while now. It's also been shown that it can handle 2000+ players with a proper server setup.

Wait a few weeks. NCSoft still needs to update their client and fix a LOT of typos. So we don't know if what the client says is true, or if what the server is doing is true (some skills say they raise one stat, but really they raise a different one). But go to l2guru. Good site for info and Diego Vargas is always posting new information on stuff along with other retail players.

Ok, seriously, I'm not racist, or countryist, or whatever you want to call it, but what's up with the greeks? Over the past two years did you guys suddenly get broadband? It seems like a few years ago the greek community online (especially in the L2 scene) wasn't that big. But now, every other server is greek. Used to be the russians were really big in the L2 community, but they've been quiet from what I can tell for the most part. So what gives? Why the huge explosion in greek activity in the L2 scene over the past few years?

It's been asked for many times and you'll always get the same response... Unless you do it yourself or are part of a private developer community, the skills you find (usually shared up by astyle and others) are absolute garbage. And I don't say that to be mean, but it's the truth. They're mostly horribly done and lacking any research. Also with gracia final now out, a LOT of them will have to be redone once NCSoft updates it's client with proper info (there's a lot of bad typos from the translation team so things aren't 100% clear).

Personally, I do miss C4 days. Those were good times. Mid rate off servers had some really great communities. My biggest problem is the more you add to classes, the harder it is to balance them. Not only that, but there's power creep to consider too. That is, CP, HP, and MP haven't exactly kept up with the new power provided from the latest armors, weapons, and skills. On high rate servers this is VERY noticable. On low rates it's not as bad, but still noticable in the later levels. Mostly, people have issues with the lack of balance that the new items and skills bring. Back in C4 days, you KNEW what classes did what and everyone was for the most part, pretty happy with their role (though prophets, bds, and sws will always QQ).

QFT Especially para aug on an ele summoner with high cast speed. I think now though it has a static reuse, but before, when it didn't have a static reuse, it could be spammed. Was fucking terrible in siege when you had an ES locking you down and you couldn't heal your party.

Look at all you spamming motherfuckers. See, this is the problem on forums where you need a certain amount of post count to view shit. You get threads with tards like this who don't bother to look at it and can't even see it and yet they still respond to get their post count up. READ THE THREAD NABS. It's been fixed on the majority of servers.

Wow, mass corruption right after opening? Do what I do. Don't give your GMs any power aside from chatban, kick, and MAYBE ban abilities if they've proven themselves. Don't let them create items, don't let them deal damage, don't let them take agro, don't let them drop items, enchant items, etc, etc. I know to a lot of people this sounds like a lot of restrictions, but honestly, GMs aren't there to go around enchanting shit and killing people. They should be support staff and event managers.

You sure? I've never seen this one until nBd moved to gracia final, so it's probably a slick packet hack of some sort since I'm sure packets are still being fixed for GF.

NOT TRUE AT ALL You can run a server without donations that affect pvp. You do not need to offer up pvp items (adena, armor, weapons, enchants, skills, etc). There are a lot of ways to reward donators without making them all powerful. Besides, it ruins the server and you end up with people talking about your server in threads like these. ;)
