The best feature you can have is DDOS protection.

 

Seriously all these servers go up and come down and you know why?

1) Devs don't give a shit, they hire corrupt GM's and the servers go to shit

2) Devs can't provide a safe and stable server to play on

3) Devs / Gms are not having fun/ making events on the servers . . .

4) Too many un-balanced custom shits

 

You want a server that will stay on for years?

Get the best server protection + DOS protection

Get a good team of devs and GM's

Plan events every few days

Keep it simple and clean, get rid of the annoying things and just keep the fun stuff  fun stuff = (pvp /siege/ enchanting / SA'ing / Sub-classing / Noblessing )

^What he said, and don't give your GM's full -beep-ing access there is no reason for that, make a complete new access level without //gmshop, //create_item, droplist editing, enchanting privs, or you will have corruption, always happens, never fails, especially if you take in random players as GM like most idiot admins I've seen do, and actually expect them to be worth anything.
