may

"He ................................................ shower, so he couldn't hear the bell."

What i made is "he may have having a shower, so he couldn't hear the bell", but im not sure if it is rights.

he may was having a shower :D

The word "shower" can't be used with the verb "have", but with the verb "take".

If you say "I'm having a shower", that means that you're eating a piece of your tub. rofl.

This sentence (the first one)

"It was possible that he was having a shower, so he couldn't hear the bell"

Is official from the book...  ( book: First Certificate Expert Coursebook - Oxford)  so I think magaki you're wrong. Even I have heard "I was having a shower" many times, which meant that I was washing myself.

Well, it may be correct, but never heard "I was having a shower" before..

He may had been having a shower.. (4 words)

Jeez, aren't these Lower level exercises?

may -> word given

and the verb 'have' -> in the form of Past Perfect Continuous tense (Had + been + ing)

The word "shower" can't be used with the verb "have", but with the verb "take".

If you say "I'm having a shower", that means that you're eating a piece of your tub. rofl.

That totally made my day.

Sure it's for lower, but the 'high' ones(cambridge ex)

anyway, why Past Perfect Continues and not Past Continues?;d

He may was having? LoL

It wants to define an action which happened in the past, had its duration in the past and has now finished.

And hell, NO!, it certainly isn't a 'high one'.
