Between 2 Dedi servers

Codec

Question

Hello (and sorry if I am posting on a wrong thread, but I didn't find any section relating to "Dedicated servers" only")

I am abou to open a serious l2 server and for now, I found 2 dedicated servers and I want your opinion which you prefer.

So here we go:

1)

Intel Core i7-920

6 GB DDR3 RAM

2 x 500 GB SATA II HDD

500 GB Backupspace

3000 GB Traffic inclusive

100 MBit FD fast-ethernet connection

Windows Server 2008

2)

AMD Phenom II X4 965

6 GB DDR3 RAM

2 x 500 GB SATA II HDD

500 GB Backupspace

3000 GB Traffic inclusive

100 MBit FD fast-ethernet connection

Windows Server 2008

It's for start, later maybe we will prefer taking a better cpu and 14+ RAM

With these specifications, and the connection, will I get 250-350 players without any problems/lag?

Thanks a lot.

Intel core one.

AMD sucks, its fail copy pasta from intel with the only difference; they are cheaper.

I also suggest you these

http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produktmatrix/rootserver-produktmatrix/

http://giga-international.com/index/index.php?show=konfigurator&server_id=117&idd=

And yes, you will have 300+ people without lag (Also depends from the bandwidth consumed).

I have seen servers with Intel i7 cpu and they are working just fine... Or its only for L2j servers?

L2Off server has problem with  i-7(Just he is not compatitive)

L2J has no problem

also other Intel series have no problem (like i5)

correct me if wrong

First, you can run over an i7,npc server wont crash,at least i never had problems,

second, if you want to take something good,i suggest you to go with another kind of hard disk,

like an SSD or SCSI with an higher bandwitch/rpm's

Third, get win server 2003, of course an x64 edition.
