Blane Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 My cousin has an hdd right now which is not even SATA.It's connected to the his computer. He intends to get a new drive which should be SATA II.Now he wanna format of course the system, but we have to configure the 2 drives as master and slave. Does anybody knows something more about this issue, cause I'm kinda newbie on this. ;D Regards, Blane
Hax0r Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 You have to mess around with the jumpers. Since you're greek: http://e-pcmag.gr/node/34487
Intrepid Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 at the back of the HDD you have a usually 7 or 8 pin connection with a jumper on it above that theres description which poisition is master and slave
Intrepid Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Just outta quriosity, do sata II disks have jumpers? yes
Hax0r Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 One more question: what happens if both disks are set on master? >:D
Intrepid Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 One more question: what happens if both disks are set on master? >:D well usually you have 2 route or more to have HDDs so its not confusing and dont cause problems if you use sata ofc
Blane Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Thanks for the info, I'll leave it open, just in case somebody would like to ask something else.
