I've been a long-time player as many of the forum users in here. I've switch multiple servers. Some of them were good, some bad. Sometimes i joined servers that i couldnt tell from the beggining if they were good or bad. This guide aims to give the user a full picture on "how" to pick a good server, judging from its appearance before you even login.

Surelly the feature list/site/forum arent the ONE and ONLY factor that will allow you to have a complete image of a server. Login in and playing a server, is actually the best judge. It lets you find in detail all about that server. But yet, instead of losing 2-3 days "playing" in a server, just to figure out it sux, this guide provides an alternative.

Judging a server from the outside.

Who doesnt have a stie ... Everybody has a site nowadays. Every single server has both a site and a forum. At least those that worth mentioning. Most of hte times the sites are tricky. Claiming things they dont have, using extra super-motive words and may other "visual"-"verbal" tricks , to make players believe into something that is not actually there. This guide is divided into three parts:

1)The Usual ... traps.

This section allows you to find out possible words in a servers website and other things that indicate that the server doesnt worth a crap. Alone they are not a complete way to figure out a server. If a server has traps, but NO good points ( aka part 2) ) then you can deduct that it is a bad server. If on the other hand, it has traps , but also GOOD points, then its not 100% sure it will be a bad server.

2)Points that indicate a good server.

Those are parts in the site/forum that show us that this server might actually be good.

1)The Usual traps.

Manual Events by GMs

The friendly event GM trap. What events ?  How many gms ? When do the events happen? Days/ hours. And after all, every server has gms that do events. Nothing special here, the server owner is just trying to make you believe his server has good gms.

Full Anti-Bot System.

Full Anti-Hack System.

Very big trap. Noone has full anti-bot or full anti-hack. And 99% of the l2jserver have absolutelly NO protection. They just place that as a feature to look pro.

Custom Addons: TvT event, spawn protection, raid bosses, bla bla bla ...

Another trap in here. The server owner says he has "custom" addons. Infact all those things are actually IN l2j. They arent added by the server owner. Its not his work. And every server out there has those.

Hellbound Areas

Gracia Continent.

Offline Trade.

Wedding Event.

ust an extension here same as the "custom" thing. THey arent custom, they exist in L2J. Nothing done by the owner, every server has them.

Olympiad Anti-Feeding Protection.

Ah ... The Devils trap. There is no server with olympiad anti-feeding. Most of the anti-feeding methods can be bypassed. Its rare to see servers with that thing. Most owners place that "feature" in their list, just to make ppl believe their server is cool.

Our rates are x1000 with some unique custom features which make the game easier and more fun.

Monkey-trick trap. The sever owner says he has "some custom features" but he doesnt say what features. What are those features ?  Name them or failed attempt.

As Lineage II players ourselves, we got tired of all the buggy servers, most never being updated and with constant server downtimes and account wipes....

The good admin trap. The admin pretends that he made the server cause he wanted to see some good server up. But infact he made the server just to get money.

UNIQUE FEATURES

Territory Wars

Kamaloka

All the mobs (stats, skills and droplists)

All the skills

Gracia Epilogue Mail System

Jewel Augmentation

Subclass Skill System

Fame system

PvP Weapons & Armors

Masterwork Weapons

Masterwork Armors

An example of the "UNIQUE features" trap. The admin puts up a list of features which he calls unique. But they arent, they are default L2J things that all up-to-date servers have. They arent unique.
