Since he downloaded it from L2J he can edit the source

(i guess)

There's difference between "download" and "compile".

Download is compiled pack,but since he dont have the source its pre-conf.(Means,he cant edit the java files)

As i know,every L2J chronicle has a compiled pack to download,and source code

If i am right,then the files he downloaded are same with compiled source's,so it's the same

But if he compiles a L2J NOW,won't it be the same?(meaning database)

Not,

Listen,Compile -> take the svn,check it out,run build,extact the source.

Pre-Conf -> Only the extact files.
