As promised the second guide. Rylai as a caster/supporter however you want to call her. Okay so lets start :).

Story

 

 

Adept in the manipulation of frost and ice, Rylai is the very image of elegeance and grace. Trained by a renegade wizard deep in the heart of Winterspring, Rylai brings to the Sentinel her prowess in the arts of magic. With a vast arsenal of spells, she wreaks havoc upon her foes - be it with powerful blasts of frost to send them fleeing in panic, or be it by rendering them immobile in ice. Her foes tremble in fear as the ground beneath implodes in mighty novas of frost in a dazzling array, obliterating all who dare oppose her.

 

 

Skill Info

 

Frost Nova

 

Blasts enemy units around a target enemy unit with a wave of damaging frost that slows movement speed and attack rate for 4 seconds.

 

Level 1 - 50 target damage and 75 nova damage.

Level 2 - 100 target damage and 100 nova damage.

Level 3 - 125 target damage and 125 nova damage.

Level 4 - 175 target damage and 125 nova damage.

 

Cooldown: 11 seconds.

 

Level 1: 100 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

Level 2: 130 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

Level 3: 155 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

Level 4: 185 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

 

Frostbite

 

Freezes the target in a case of ice, prohibiting movement and attacking. Deals 70 damage per second.

 

Level 1 - Lasts 1.5 seconds.

Level 2 - Lasts 2 seconds.

Level 3 - Lasts 2.5 seconds.

Level 4 - Lasts 3 seconds.

 

Cooldown: 10 seconds.

 

Level 1: 115 mana, 10 sec cooldown.

Level 2: 125 mana, 10 sec cooldown.

Level 3: 140 mana, 10 sec cooldown.

Level 4: 150 mana, 10 sec cooldown.

 

Brilliance Aura

 

Gives additional mana regeneration to all friendly units.

 

Level 1 - Adds 0.75 mana regeneration.

Level 2 - Adds 1.5 mana regeneration.

Level 3 - Adds 2.25 mana regeneration.

Level 4 - Adds 3 mana regeneration.

 

Passive

 

Freezing Field

 

Causes many random icy explosions in an area surrounding Rylai. Enemy units in the Freezing Field are slowed. Lasts 4 seconds.

 

Level 1 - Each explosion deals 105 damage.

Level 2 - Each explosion deals 170 damage.

Level 3 - Each explosion deals 250 damage.

 

Cooldown: 150/120/90 seconds.

 

Level 1: 300 mana, 150 sec cooldown.

Level 2: 400 mana, 120 sec cooldown.

Level 3: 600 mana, 90 sec cooldown.

a)Start game

 

Lets say you have 600 gold again. At start you'll have a lot of options but i mostly pick this option.

 

Well till 6 level hopefully you will be able to do this inventory to + + . Well now that you've done that the real farming for items comes. You have many places from which to start. There are many options from now on. It all depends on how good you farm. Lets say you didn't die until that time and farmed with normal speed. So you should start collecting either  for or now if you ask me you should first collect for MKB since gangs/pushes start at mide game and till than you should have smth to protect yourself from ppl that can ruind your ultimate, so if you ask me take that first. Well now that you've took it the mid game should be around to start.

 

b)Mid-Game

 

Mid game the period of the map in which you get the most kills and stuff. And since you and your team will do pushes than and you will destroy towers which give additional gold you should aim to create a another option for this time is the item [key] to your victory which i prefer to make after the bkb is . So making soulbooster will give you sort of defense since of the hp increase and also stapability of mana while the dagger will let you use it in combination with bkb. That will get you a lot of kills so imo make it first ;D. Well you will probably be able to create soul booster and a dagger until the end of mid game. If you're on the half of mid game and you've created both items than aim for Now its the end of mid game  or probably it should be you have many options from now on.

 

c)Late Game

 

Ok in this state of game you will be able to finish your inventory build if the game didn't end yet. As i said above you have a lot of choices you can either transform the boots of speed to or OR aim for

Ok now that you've created your boots of speed into something and created shiva. You have 1 slot left. 1 slot left to fill with whatever item you want. You have tons of options i wont place them now i will place them in optional items later.

 

Now i should explain why getting those items so lets start.

 

Item Explanation

 

You are a intelligance hero you have spells and stuff. You are obligated to protect lanes.The boots of travels will let you do so with the active skill of them. Really helpful for some situations.

OR

Doing Phase Boots instead of BoT will let you chase after your enemy or just escape from him also it gives armor and defense for you is nothing more than a big plus.

Ok its obvious why you make bkb but i will explain too. This item has an active skill which works like Avatar. It provides spell immunity for a period of time. Which also means that your ultimate will not be interrupted in any way and that will surely bring kills to you since your ultimate is powerful.

Ok so why dagger? Well  since bkb makes you big and normal people are afraid from things bigger than them if you run from the woods in Avatar-Mode and they will be like "LOL :O OMG B MANS B" And with dagger you will just hide in woods, use bkb and than teleport in the center of the melee and use your ulti to pwn them. Simple as that ;D.

Aghanim is basic item for you. It increases your mana your health and it boosts your ultimate...What more do you need? A lollipop :/.Well yeah you should get it .  Its like designed for you also it gives a cool effect! +).

Shiva's Guard is an awesome item for every mage. Its like the dream of every hero thats born intelligence type [tho some fighters like it too :D]. Now seriously ... It increases armor with powers-up your defense and you need that plus more it gives mana and on top of that it gives an awesome active skill. Ulti + Shiva = QQEnemies.

 

Ok .. you're left with 1 slot in which you can put any optional item that i will name now.

 

Optional Items

 

Ok thats another good disabling skill which helps you a lot you can use it it gives many attributes as well as the active skill

Refresher is also a good item since it alllows you to use everything that has cooldown again since thats the active skill of it refreshes your skills. Using 2 ultimates at 1 push sounds cool right? =).

You can make this item if they are way too many fighters that can pwn you :'(.

Or this if they are way to many mages :/.

This is also an good idea since it blocks 1 magic spell thats aimed for you. And its basically when you have way too many stunners in the enemy team. Although you have bkb so maybe thats not so good choice but you CAN make it.

Another item with active skill which does damage. Yeah its good for finishing blows for ppl that try to escape i used it many times its good !

Gives a lot of mana , health regen ... Its useful not to forget about the passive skill that prevents you from loosing much gold on death + getting exp in the area where you died. Yeah i find it useful.

Many health points/mana points and an frost-attack with the ability of slowing and since you are Crystal Maiden why not having it ?:)

This instead of dagger is also an good option Tho they can prevent it with eyes while they can't stop your from teleporting well.. not when they not know their ganged.

 

Although im sure you can thing of many other optional items but these ones are the most used. Aswell as optional, they are some items that you shouldn't take as i browsed the forum you call them REJECTED ITEMS. So let me show you which items are rejected for the Ice Princess.

 

Rejected Items

 

I am not quite sure you need it in my opinion this item is just waste of money for Crystal you could do so much ithings instead of doing it.

Come on... you don't need that...

You don't need it let someone else have it!

Uh? What? Nu-uh.

Come on... reject items are those who just serve a lot of damage. You don't need that!

 

Ok so here's some screens with showing stats when making some of the items

 

 

 

 

 

Next phase of my guide is Lane Control so lets start.

 

Lane Control

 

Well now that you are a caster  you will be able to even solo in mid vs 1. Tho if you are to fight with 2 ask someone from your team to aid you. If you find the lane too hard just swap lanes with a guy that will have no problem in there. The basic thing for you now is to not let your opponent farm by denying your creeps. Try last hitting enemy creeps to gain the gold so you can create items fast n easy. At 8-9 level your lane control wont matter try to push the tower asap. Ask a fellow mate to help you at lvl 7 to destroy mid tower once you do that start ganging people, this will be easy for you but more about that will be described later. For now that's all.Thats all about lane control the basics from what i've written is:

-Deny/lasthit as much as you can

-Try to go to a lane you can get fed easily

-Try to destroy the tower as fast as you can

-Your lane control obligation ends at 7-9 level

 

Moving on-->>

 

Jungling

 

As i said in the other guide jungling is not recommended for rylai since  she's not a figher. You can lure your creeps to tank for you and thats the only way you can farm in the forrest . Tho in start game i don't really think you should jungle unless its not urgent for you to collect 100-300 gold. Thats all for jungling lets move on.

 

Strategy

 

Start Game

 

At first you should be acting bitchy. By that i mean not letting your enemies farm teasing them with skill , denying your creeps etc. You should start pushing from your lane with the objective to kill the tower till 10 level maximum. You need to go and gang as much as you can since you are a supporter thats what you should do, aim for killing, assisting kills and eventually pushing thats basically what you should do in start. Avoid getting ganged call your fellows to aid you on your lane for killing heroes it will be easy if you have a stunner since Frostbite + Attack + Nove + Stun = GG :). Also do not save your ulti, use it as much as you can. Try killing with it as that is the main purpose of it.

 

Mid Game

 

Mid game is your time, the time in which you'll have dagger + bkb. The time where you should become beyond godlike. Letting your opponents push and backstab them while attacking the tower with an ultimate is what rylai has to do. She usually prevents pushes from the enemies and helps for ganging a lot. Since she has a disable skill + a slowing skill she truelly is one of the best supporters not to mention the damage from the ultimate. Try not getting killed and move from lane to lane to farm and prevent creeps from pushing while your team goes roshan or simply pushes the enemies to their territory.

 

End Game

 

At the end game you should be a killing machine. Try to avoid ganging the whole team if they have stunners or bad disablers otherwise ganging 2 or more [solo] will not be a problem for you as you will be really powerful. At that state aim for maximum chance of pushes and counter-attacks. Once in their base try to fool them around while your team destroy their barracks and structures. Yeah thats the same text from the other guide but its just the same thing you should do nothing more nothing less.

 

Important Notes 1-2 Words Guide

 

-Never gang alone in start, the chance of getting killed is big.

-You have low hp in start so ppl will most likely try to gang you, so the point is not to walk alone

-Don't be greedy you're a slow hero if you see someone is running towards the tower do not chance him you might end up dying from the tower

-Don't keep your ulti for christmas use it a lot! Try getting kills with it

-Gang as much as you can your Hero is designed for that do not waste his purpose

-When your team gangs/pushes never go with them you will really be the key of their victory

-If thinking on attacking a single enemy with ultimate use frostbite to disable his movements first!

-If ganging someone alone aim for someone with small escaping chances or hero that doesn't have skills like blink

-Always hold a healing potion in you, you have low hp and you will surely need it

-When at Roshan don't be greedy let the most fed/the tank take the aegis you are a supporter at this game so you wont need it

-Push as much as you can and do not let yourself killed unless necessery for the team's good

-Always use Shiva's Guaird in combination with your ulti and it will surely bring you a kill

-You're a supporter do not steal your fellow team mates hero-kills with skills attacking normally and killing the hero is ok but killing it with a skill when a frednly hero can just finiosh him off is NOT OK

-Beware, if you get fed 2 much you'll be targetted so do not walk alone!

Good Allies.

 

-> Ultimate + your Ultimate = GG :P

 

-> Holding him while you use ultimate is awesome

 

-> Stun for 7 secons O_O For that time you can rape a whole team!!!

 

-> Slow + Nova = he wouldn't have the chance to walk ..

 

-> This skill allows you to spam your active skills on the enemy hero plus it speed is decreased

 

-> Taking Him while you do your ulti is a good strategy

 

-> Another Holding Skill [good combination with your ultimate]

Yeah i copied from the other guide and gave explanation why. Well basically all heroes that can hold them/stun them are your allies since your ultimate is an aoe skill you need your enemy to not move untill you're doing it

 

 

Bad Enemies.

 

-> Disbles you bad and stops your ultimate

 

-> He's a hard bitch and when its night Slow + Attack Slow + Attack and you're dead [he has silence too]

 

-> Another slower damn that bitch..

 

-> Silence ;'(

 

-> + Yeah .. Snakes + Hold ass-fucks you

 

-> Badass stun really badass and he has that startfall skill which is bad too

 

-> Mass Silence sounds bad

 

-> Mass Disables of doing anything is just iimba

 

-> Stun + 3 + Ultimate and you are 100% dead avoid getting in combat with this hero imho

 

-> 4x Roots how does that sound ?

 

Well basically Heroes that have stun/disable/silence are your biggest enemies. Avoid solo[ing] them.

 

Last part of the guide as you know is pros'n'cons so let's start!

i prefer BoT instead of PB :P she has the lowest MS after techies and kael so she needs a safe escape route or move to another section of the map to keep farming fast as she is item dependable

You said that Rylai only has one Aoe spell. That's wrong. Frost nova is an Aoe too, the Aoe is small but it's still an aoe ( hits multiple creeps if you use it on a wave )

I think rilay should start with 2-3 skill and not to solo mid cuz with that stun she can take more kills and with her 3rs skill also help teamates to make more spells
