Here are some facts about dota :) some are fun, just take a look:

 

    *  Pugde (the Butcher) can rot himself to death.

    * Luna's attack gets malfunctioned if you use Stygian, Eye of Skadi, Sange & Yasha. But she can use Mask of Death combined with other stuff.

    * DotA stands for Defense of the Ancients.

    * Furion cannot Teleport unless he has explored the area he wants to Teleport to (He cannot teleport to the enemies' base unless they have destroyed something). Same goes for those who blink.

    * If the courier hasn't been upgraded, you can kill it with magic and damage. (Use Furion's ultimate skill!)

    * The Phantom Assassin (Mortred) gets the highest critical, if she is well played. Due to the ultimate skill Coup De Grace which deals 4x your damage at level 3.

    * The Stealth Assassin (Rikimaru) has permament invisibility, but the skill has a fade time.

    * The item "Divine rapier" will drop if you die.

    * If you activate Black King Bar on Mini-Pudge courier he grows enormously huge (about 3-5 times normal Pudge animation),it works only once per Mini-Pudge.

    * Eye of Skadi is not an orb effect on ranged heroes.

    * Landmines of the Goblin Techies can damage towers if they are laid next to the tower and an unit triggers it.

    * You can use magic items on the chicken/crow/vulture

    * In DotA 6.49 there are "IceFrogs"; by killing them you can unlock secret bosses that are settled in bottom right corner(4 of them).

    * In DotA 6.39 there also were some secrets that involved an Icefrog.

    * It's possible to kill the Fountain, but is almost unachievable.

    * Floating heroes (E.g. Davion the Dragon Knight in Dragon Form) don't trigger landmines.

    * Goblin Techies has the highest base attack range, but Dwarven Sniper has highest when he skills 4 levels in his Take Aim ability .

    * Tinker's ultimate spell (Rearm) also works on items.

    * If Pudge hooks a very far away target (1001-1400 range) and kills the target with the hook, he won't receive any experience points for the kill.

    * Writing things like "noobs" will make people dislike you, making "noobed" allies support you probably less and "noobed" enemies probably kill you more, this being a solid strategy for tanks.

    * The highest chance to bash you can have is 91,58348, when you have Dwarven Sniper and 6 Monkey King Bars

    * Magic Immune heroes can still be bashed and effected by some ultimate spells.

    * Troll Warlord can dispel Silencer's DoT instantly by switching between range and melee.

    * Dagon 5 is the most expensive item in the game with a cost of 8400 gold; Divine Rapier has a cost of 7800.

    * If Tinker or Obsidian Destroyer use Black King Bar, they are transformed into a tank, respectively a statue.

    * When SIG is offline, the crime rate rises.

 

 

The following facts are all from the GGC Forum, some info may be outdated:

 

    * Medusa's (the Gorgon) PURGE only damages summoned units while Diffusal Blade's purge instantly kills them?

    * Sven, the Rogue Knight was named Arnold Schwarzenegger before?

    * The only negative buff that purge can't cancel is Doom?

    * When a hero blinks while ensnared they still can't move but they have no net animation?

    * You cannot use abilities when netted by Meepo, The Geomancer?

    * Ursa Warrior actually has 2 names... the 1st is FUZZY WUZZY and the other is ULFASAAR; Same goes with Nerubian Assassin: Anub'Arak and Tuten'Arak?

    * You can Netherswap (Shandelzare, the Vengeful Spirit's ultimate spell) repelled and avatared (Black King Bar effect) heroes?

    * Rearm doesn't quicken the cooldown of Helm of Dominator and Hand of Midas but just REcooldown them?

    * There are no female strength heroes?

    * Enchantress' (Aiushta) spell, Enchant, can control all images including the Nessaj's/Chaos Knight's ultimate?

    * Balanar, the Night Stalker has the farthest line of sight at night?

    * When Rikimaru, the Stealth Assassin, is doomed by Lucifer, he loses Permanent Invisibility?

    * You can actually cancel blink, by targeting the desired place, then by pressing the shortcut key "S" which makes a fake blink animation?

    * Leoric, the Skeleton King is the only hero with only 1 active skill?

    * While Yurnero, the Juggernaut, is using Blade Fury, he can still use item activated on his inventory, for example, Dagon?

    * Some disables last longer on summoned units and creeps than on heroes?

    * Voodoo and Hex can instantly kill image's?

    * Healing Fountains don't heal images?

    * Song of the Siren (Slithice, the Naga Siren's ultimate) has the longest range for an AoE spell; When it's on the 3rd level, it actually is larger than the screen?

    * Chronosphere (Darkterror, the Faceless Void's ultimate) doesn't actually stop channeling spells; it just delays or stops them but it doesn't cancel them?

    * Vladimir's Offering is not an orb effect?

    * When Mercurial, the Spectre, dies with a Divine Rapier, it drops; IF she dies while having the Shadow Dagger buff, it won't....?

    * When stunned from Impale, a hero cannot be stunned by another impale based spell at the same time, such as Nerubian Assassin's (Anub'Arak; Tuten'Arak) Impale, Lion's (Demon Witch's) Impale, Leviathan's (Tidehunter) Ravage and Earthshaker's (Raigor Stonehoof) Fissure?

    * Ursa used to be a ranged hero?

    * Lycanthrope in Wolf form is a ranged hero with a shorter attack range than melee heroes?

    * Enchantress' Enchant can control Pandaren Brewmaster's (Mangix) Ultimate?

    * Zeus' (the Lord of Olympia) second skill and ultimate reveal invisible units?

    * Silence disables Rikimaru's (the Stealth Assassin) stealth in the duration of the effect?

    * Rearm does not refresh Necronomicon or Refresher Orb?

    * Targets hit by Impale will auto-target the hero who used it?

    * You can cancel all skills on Shadow Fiend?

    * Towers cannot reveal invisible units out of 600 range, but the tower's vision range is 900?

    * Alchemist's (Razzil Darkbrew) third skill, Goblin's Greed, works on Templar Assassin's (Lanaya) trap and Weaver's (Anub'seran) scout?

    * Phantom Lancer (Azwraith) will drop a Jux-item after Black King Bar?

    * In older DotA versions, Morphling was multicolored (color changing) & could copy spells?

    * In older DotA versions, Lycanthrope (Banehallow) in Wolf form had farther range attack?

    * In older DotA versions, the Stealth Assassin, now called Rikimaru, had a death ward similar to Witch Doctor's (Vol'Jin)?

    * In older DotA versions, Faceless Void's (Darkterror) ultimate froze the whole map?

    * In older DotA versions, you could duplicate items in Death Match mode?

    * In older DotA versions, there was a science-fiction inspired tank as a scourge hero?

    * In older DotA versions, Stealth Assassin used to be permanently invisible on level 1 and had a Death Ward as ultimate.

    * Lucifer (the Doombringer) has 2 names he has Lucifer and Lucy

    * Wild Axes (Rexxar, the Beast Master's spell) destroy the wall fissure creates

    * Eye of Skadi is not an orb effect on ranged heroes but it is a buff placer so it overrides other buff placers such as Corruption?

    * Furion's (the Prophet) teleport cannot be canceled by stunning him, if he is stunned while casting the spell he will continue to cast it after the stun duration is over?

    * While Doomed the following abilities are disabled: passive bash, critical strike, evasion and lifesteal? An exception to this is backtrack but backtrack technically isn't an evasion.

    * Eclipse and Epicenter will continue even if the caster has already died?

    * Marksmanship technically deals infinite damage?

    * You can dodge most projectiles with Blink and Windwalk?

    * If your hero has less than 0.5 casting then you can use those skills while under the effect of Black Hole?

    * Frostbite permanently freezes scourge and sentinel's creeps?

    * Backtrack can dodge some target spells?

    * Techies' mines can neglect the spawning of creeps if placed in a creep well.

    * You can't take action while thrown? It counts as a stun.

    * Spectre's reflect cancels most channeled ultimate spells like Black Hole.

    * Your images can stun with Monkey King Bar, but not with Cranium Basher.

    * Your images carry the effect of Radiance with you.

    * The Misha-bear of the Syllabear can carry radiance all around the map, damaging units, while Syllabear is farming somewhere else.

    * This site was created to stop the boredom of waiting for SIG to come back online.

    * In Mirror Mode, a Juggernaut can become invulnerable if he casts his ultimate spell on another Juggernaut at exactly the same time.

    * There used to be a bug that could give you 8-10 heroes when typing -random really really fast

    * If you blink just above the secret shop (sentinel side) you get transported to the right side, in an open plain.

    * Pudge's hook gives visibility when thrown.

    * Vengeful Spirit's ultimate spell (Nether Swap) destroys the trees around both spots.

    * Prophet can tree up to 3 heroes if he is lucky.
