Discussion What to know before opening l2j private server

Hello, I am going to open Lineage 2 server for first time and want to ask to experienced server owners. What should I know before opening? 

Things that I would like to know in first place: 

1)Which server hardware hosting service to use.

2)Which ddos protection to chose.

3)Avarege server population to pay off server bills, all except devs.

4)What problems I am most likely going to face on live. 

5)Anticheat options. 

6)And just general things I should pay attention.

1) any moderately priced linux dedicated will do the job, start with a smaller one if you know how many players to expect at start, better than using vps that tends to get severely oversold by the hosts in the majority of the cases.

2) none, those that you can afford are crap, the ones that will make a difference charge a premium and not for the average joe

3) depends what people can donate on, you can do a simple multiplication by yourself

4) depends on if it's a low or high rate

5) if you rely on publicly sold protections they don't do nothing, have to make your own

6) please not another pay2win, high-rate l2j, make the difference

Bot protection.

 

Solve botting and youare ready to go. When i say botting, i do not mean farming. I mean all the other stuff and scripts a bot program provides.

P.s: Keep your server's features simple. (A friendly advice and my opinion aswell.)
