I presume you have the database setup and everything working except the hauthd proxy.

in database lin2db in server table, add for example 3 server for testing purposes. (change IPs to mach yours)

server1: id = 1, name = proxy1, ip = x.x.x.x, inner_ip = 192.168.1.2, ageLimit = 0, pk_flag = 1, kind = 0, port = 7777, region = 1

server2: id = 2, name = proxy2, ip = y.y.y.y, inner_ip - 192.168.1.2, ageLimit = 0, pk_flag = 1, kind = 0, port = 7777, region = 1

server3: id = 3, name = proxy3, ip = z.z.z.z,  inner_ip - 192.168.1.2, ageLimit = 0, pk_flag = 1, kind = 0, port = 7777, region = 1

name can be anything you like

change x.x.x.x, z.z.z etc ... to the proxy ips, eressea already posted a great guide about that

change inner_ip to your internal network.

save that and open hAuthD.ini, go to [Adv] section and add this line ServerEndpoints = 3

save the file.

start hAuthd

in l2server.ini [AuthD] section put

address="192.168.1.2"

start l2server.exe

see if it works

The one here is patched, the one you downloaded from the website is for 1 ip per server. What OS r u using and what steps did you follow till u got the error u mention?

ps: there is no installation method, u just copy paste the executable in the auth folder

I've got a request to patch the latest version (2.7.0.146) the same way so here it is http://download.l2shrine.com/hauthd-new-unpacked-patched.exe

Thanks for this, and my post is going to be hell of a necro but I've got a question.

Do you happen to have a version compatible with Prelude/C1 authentication without the use of blowfish?

More like something as L2AuthD 40504.

Thanks!

I did some googling and found out that people often patched the exe to add multiple lines for a single real game server in the server selection window. In reality, this functionality always existed, but I forgot to mention it in the documentation. The information was only on forums, but it has been lost.

Field master_id in lin2db.dbo.server

For a single server, you can add multiple rows in the table with different IPs and names. This can be used to add proxy servers to the list. The master server's id is specified in master_id. The additional servers will have an offline status if the master server has an offline status.

Extended IP field format in lin2db.dbo.server

Example:
192.168.1.*:192.168.1.10; 10.*:10.1.1.1,10.1.1.2; 87.213.67.1,87.213.67.2,87.213.67.3

Players with IP 192.168.1.* will be assigned IP 192.168.1.10. For players with IP 10.*, they will be assigned 10.1.1.1 and 10.1.1.2 (randomly). For all others: 87.213.67.1, 87.213.67.2, or 87.213.67.3.

User accounts can have different access levels (from 0 to 9). The access level is specified in the special_gates (int) column of the account. Each IP group can have a minimum required access level (prefixes from s to s9). If the access level of the IP group is higher than the user's access level, these IPs will not be assigned to them.

Example:
1.1.1.1; s:2.2.2.2; s2:3.3.3.3,3.3.3.4

Players with access level 2 and above will be assigned 3.3.3.3 or 3.3.3.4. Players with access level 1 will get 2.2.2.2. All others will get 1.1.1.1.

    • Hi, I would like to ask how the CliExt.dll protection is supposed to be compiled from the publicly available source.   I have tried compiling the source that is available in the usual/public repositories, but I cannot get it to work correctly.   This seems different from some of the older Vanganth builds, where CliExt.dll could be compiled successfully and worked with the client.   Is there a specific project configuration, missing source file, dependency, compiler setting, or additional step required to compile the current source correctly?   Any information or guidance on how the protection is intended to be compiled would be greatly appreciated.
