You will need:

Unreal Engine 2 Runtime (v22261903)

UTPT, UMODEL or other package extractor. (Optional in this case)

l2encdec

l2fileedit

Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.net

And also a bit of knowledge about how things works in L2 clientside.

overwriting existing start_logo-e with tool would do just fine, no? xd

in case of interlude yes...but on h5? dont you have to recreate the whole font-e.utx?

No as Interlude, you can edit the default L2Font-e.utx

Do you have any link for those tools?

even with that hows he going to edit the utx without unreal

also thats a REALLY bad way of doing stuff (overwriting retail files) and its much easier (and lighter on patch too!) if he just creates a new one with his texture and edits localization ini to load the new texture instead of from l2uich3/ct1

He is not going to "edit" utx, just replace its content with l2tool (im just assuming it works on h5 as it does on interlude oops)

Thats true its bad, but we dont know if he wants to create patch for other people or just wants to do a little client modding for his own pleasure. The way he wrote the post makes me think its the latter and in that case i prefer the simplest solutions.
