Need More Details About L2

Recommended Posts

Hi there, i just wonder (in a long time), what the real meaning of these words: Boss, Grand Boss, Epic Boss, Endgame Boss, Epic Endgame Boss. Mage, Nuker, Enchanter, Buffer... and many more.

Far as i known, boss are all bosses, or only normal boss. Epic boss are some kind of super boss just like Queen Ant, Antharas, Valakas, Baium. Mages are all magic users? Nukers are magic attack users just like SpS, Soc, Necro, SpH.

Add more words and correct me please.

Epic bosses used to have lore/story attached to them, and a relevant item drop, like a piece of jewelry. Back when doing these was actually difficult, the value of these items was enormous due to rarity and the lack of supply. Only large alliance could do them. Drop was never guaranteed, and picking up/stealing was common, which was a conflict/drama driver - sometimes clan leaders would demand the items for themselves, to horde and monopolize or to distribute. So it required loyalty from other clan members. But you could always join a clan and attempt to steal the item during a raid, then leave...

Basically there were real political machinations and consequences regarding those items, and they were typically the reason for most conflicts, whether its between clans and alliances or inter-clan members. This made epic bosses a focal point of the game, because for that time it was "THE GAME". Everything before that was just intermediate: quests, leveling up, etc - was just a journey to that point.

Epic bosses spanned throughout the entire leveling range of characters. That's why there are end-game epic bosses, because in contrast, there were low-level epic bosses like Ant Queen and Orfen. Usually end-game bosses would imply the use of the highest grade gear possible along with the top-level characters to even have a chance at succeeding, like Beleth.

Mages and Nukers are identical. The term "Nuker" is an archaic nickname given to magical skill characters in light of their ability to two-shot or "nuke" everything else. With recent updates and the power creep it's less likely to happen, but Nuker remained as legacy slang.

Grand/Epic Boss - valakas, antharas, baium, beleth, zaken, qa, orfen, core and so on.

Endgame Epic/Boss - all bosses @ huge lvl, 78+. Like epiquin said, those who requires top gear.

Sort of.

If you play you will understand some things it's good that you are questioning. I will answer what I know logically.

Boss: It's something bigger than you in your lvl it might be sleeping and you need to awake it and it has like crazy statistics from you (Health, M.Def, P.def, etc) that's why it's called Boss. Examples? (Baium, Galaxia, Typhoon, Hestia).

Grand Boss: (The same +25% boost in every stat)

Epic Boss: (The same +25% more stats from Grand Boss)

Endgame Boss ( The same +25% more stats from Epic Boss)

Epic Endgame Boss ( It might the most powerful I don't even battled any kind of this shit it must be powerful I believe 50% more stats of EndGame Boss).

Mage, Nuker, = The same it's just other name.

Enchanter: It's just another mage class don't bother is useless.

Buffer: Buffer you propably reffering for low servers because buffers are boosting you with different kind of buffs. Also, there are different kind of buffers. (For example one general buffer is prophet from race human).

Buffers are mages but they cannot hit or make damage it's like supporters.
