Tutorial How To Make Glass Effect Template For Yourself? (Banners, Signatures, Etc)

Hi there! I made this little guide to save your time, with this "trick".

 

First at all you have to make a layer for default picture. It can be a normal black or white layer, or a picture what you want "glassize"

 

 

After this you have to make the glass style stuff. How to do it? First at all make a new layer, and select Eliptical Marquee Tool. After you selected the right shape (as you can see at the screenshot), with Gradient tool fill it. Ctrl+D and make a gradient at the bottom of the pic.

So we're done now. I guess it was enough easy. I continue with more things, cause we just rarely add only glass effect.

 

Stroke:

Its simple if we won't make a template, but now we have to do some more steps. First at all duplicate your default picture layer, and make an inner stroke.

After this right-click to the layer-> Convert to Smart Object, right-click again, and click to rasterize.

If you're done, select everything on the layer, excluding our stroke, and hit Delete button on your keyboard:

Now we have a stroke, what we can modify(color, size) what will say, even we change our default picture either.

ps.: Sizing the stroke, after rasterize: You just have to make an inner stroke again, and do some maths. if you want to make a 6px stroke, and you have 3px stroke 6px-3px=3px so you have to add a 3px stroke.

 

Stripe:

First at all open a new image (10x10 for 10x10 stripe, obviously )

With pen tool, make a stripe, with 45°.

After this we have to make pattern from this. How? Edit>Define Pattern and write a name for it.

Go back to our template, make a new layer, and hit Shift+F5, set Contents to pattern, and choose our stripe pattern, what we made. After this set opacity of the layer to 9% (for me this is the best looking)

Finally we're done. AFter this you just have to open this PSD, modify the colors(for strope, and stripe: Layer Stlyes>Color Overlay [screenshot above]), and put a new picture.
