Before going further with the Server we need some thing else.

Java: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp install it to C:\Program files\

L2j is made with Java so java must e installed or your server wont work!

HINT: If you want minimum lag, go to your Task Manager and set Java priority to: "HIGH"

 

MySQL: Mysql 4.1 Installer, then click your country and Download. Install to C:\Program Files\.

What is Mysql?

MySQl is a program that supports the Database, The Databse is with the XML and Html the source for your server.

 

How to Install MySQL?

 

1. I recommend Complete Install.

2. Now Install to C:\program Files\

3. Skip sign up!

4. Configure The Mysql by pressing Finish.

 

How to Configure MySQL?

 

1. I recommend Standard configuration.

2. Install as Windows service.

3. The Root password must be: root

4. Now Execute, if everything went well You now can run Database Installer!

 

Navicat: http://www.navicat.com/download/download.html and pick a mirror.

Install to C:\Program Files\

What is Navicat?

Navicat is a program that give you the possibility to edit or take a look at the Database!

Before You Run Database_installer.bat you must make a Connection.

 

How to?

 

1. Go ahead and open Navicat...

2. First you must make a connection, do this by clicking the:"New Connection" button, please name it:"Localhost".

3.Now right click your new connection and click create new database. At the propt window name it l2jdb, click to accept.

Now you are set to install L2 database pack.

 

Now go to c:\server\gameserver\config then configure the server.properties file

 

Quote:

Externalhostname: your WAN IP

Internalhostname: Your LAN IP

Login Host: your LAN IP

 

Then look at the part for the database config.

you will see this:

Now go to C:\server\login\config

Now, installing the Database.

 

Go to c:\Server\tools then Right Click database installer.bat and EDIT.

set gsuser=root

set gspass= Root here

set gsdb=l2jdb

set gshost=localhost

 

Save and close.

To install the database click Database_Installer.bat

 

He asks for LS and GS database install both press: F ,datafix: Y.

 

To start your server press startserver.bat in your login and gameserver folder.

 

*** For People who are behind firewall or Router.

Shut Down Firewall.

For port forwarding look at: http://portforward.com/

open port 2106,7777,9014 for login server, game server and login host

(Remember always open a port with your LAN IP)

Notice, If you want to upgrade from old server, Without losing accounts, run database Installer Login Server: s. Gameserver: u Data Fix:Y

 

DiskW!

Made a package thats compitable with DiskW!

What is DiskW? DiskW is a package that supports Mysql, PHP and Apache.

This means you can enter your own Website when press Start.bat and click " Enter Main Page" or type http://localhost/a/ in your browser.

Everything is the same but you dont have to install MySQL or Navicat.

Just call it the easy way!

 

Updated to 20060515 DiskW version will come later!

I reccomend: Hopzone.NET

 

How do i make a GM account?

 

I only know one silly way.

 

1.Shut down server.

2. open SQL account manager and set acces lvl of your account to '100'

3. now open server.properties and set everybody has admin rights to TRUE

4. start Lineage 2, and use the command //admin

5. Log out and shut down server.

6. Open server.properties again and set every body has admin rights back to FALSE

7. restart server and your account is done!

 

How to connect to my server?

 

Note this will only work if you do NOT update your server!

To connect with your client edit the hosts located in

"C:\windows\system32\drivers\ETC\hosts"

And edit with Localhost, Your LAN IP or your WAN IP.

IP notice,

i see many people with problems with the Ips.

Its simple.

 

Localhost=127.0.0.1. is for you to connect if you have InternaHostname=127.0.0.1

LAN IP= is for you and people from your network to connect, if you have Internal hostname=LAN IP

WAN IP= External hostname. its to connect from outside your network!

 

Your server is ready run first of all (start) and (login server) and(gameserver) and run Lineage 2 C4 when you will finish and you wanna close your server press (stop)
