Q: Can I really play Lineage II for free?

Goddess of Destruction content (character creation, races, classes, skills, zones, bosses, quests, clans, crafting, warehouse, auction house, chat, mail, forums, customer support, and so on) is absolutely free. When your press release says “Completely” Free to Play, how exactly do you mean? Obviously the game has to earn money somehow, so what will players be spending their dollars on?

 

Truly Free means that other than L2 Store items, Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction is completely free to play. There are no limits on access to character creation, races, classes, skills, zones, bosses, quests, clans, crafting, warehouse, auction house, chat, mail, forums, customer support, and so on. This more closely resembles the Freemium model than the typical ‘Free to Play’ model used by other MMOs. The L2 Store™ will offer items to supplement your gameplay in the form of XP and Skill Point boosts, potions, buffs and other consumable supplies, as well as cosmetic items and hunting helpers…all of which are completely optional.

Τα παιδάκια θα συνεχίσουν να παίζουν στα Interlude/high rate κτλπ privates τους και θα λένε πως ακόμα και στον offi βάλανε donates (βλ. το post του asdf0rakos) σαν δικαιολογία που δεν παίζουν. Βέβαια, κανένα ρόλο δεν παίζει το γεγονός ότι τα server που παίζουν έχουν άθλια donates που επιρεάζουν σε πολύ μεγαλύτερο βαθμό το gameplay, είναι γεμάτα bugs, έχουν ημερομηνία λήξης... τέλος πάντων να μην πολυλογώ τους λόγους για τους οποίους ο Offi είναι πολύ καλύτερος από privates τους ξέρουν όσοι έχουν ασχοληθεί σοβαρά με το L2 σε κανονικά server retail-like ακόμα και αν είναι privates.

 

Εννοείται φυσικά πως είναι καλό αυτό για το community του L2 EU ;p

τους λόγους για τους οποίους ο Offi είναι πολύ καλύτερος από privates τους ξέρουν όσοι έχουν ασχοληθεί σοβαρά με το L2 σε κανονικά server retail-like ακόμα και αν είναι privates.

Private servers θα κλείσουν ναι, αλλά οχι όλοι γιατί ναι μεν θα πάει κόσμος στον new official server αλλά κάποιοι δεν θα έχουν χρόνο για εκεί οπότε λογικό να προτιμήσουν τους private και όπως είπες τα "παιδάκια" θα παίζουν σε αυτους τους servers που ανέφερες.

Μπορεί να λένε "και ο off έβαλε donates" αλλά για την NCSoft δεν είναι ακριβώς "donate". Είναι ολόκληρη εταιρεία με υπαλλήλους, σου προσφέρει (σε λιγότερο απο 1 μήνα σχεδόν) ενα παιχνίδι εντελώς δωρεάν. Κάπως πρέπει να έχουν  έσοδα αυτοί. Δεν θα βγάλουν λίστα με +15 items να τα πάρεις να βγείς εξω και να παίξεις pvp, lol. Θα σου προσφέρει υπηρεσίες οι οποίες δεν θα επηρεάσουν το gameplay κανενός.
