Hello Everyone! Today i will show u how to change your start button icon in windows. Let's Start. First of all u will need a programm and of course the icon of your choice ;) Programm: http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ It has no virus but u can check it and by yourself ;) Virus Scan: http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/24c63edac77f8cdc0c404e2cc9e711cc9b168fd2723083167f7bc3828bf7ec27-1275922909 Icon of your choice: Here u can find some icons. http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/windows7/ For more icons create an account. Now just follow my steps. 1st. Open ResHack.exe 2nd. Open the file explorer.exe on your windows file with reshack (C:/Windows) 3rd.Expand Bitmap file 4th. Expand 3 files now (6801,6805,6809) and if u press the file that appeared after expantion u will find your start button icon ;) 5th. Press Action-->Replace Bitmap 6th. Open icon that u have downloaded from deviantart (Open File With new Bitmap Button) 7th. Find your downloaded icon 8th. Press Replace... and Voila u are done with the first file After These Steps Do the Same with files 6805 and 6809(just replace the icon and you are ready) Now one last step to activate your new button 1st. Open Run->regedit 2nd. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Windows NT->Current Version->Winlogon 3rd. Press Winlogon and u will find a file with the name Shell 4th. Right click Shell and click Modify... And then replace the explorer.exe with your new exe file that u have created.(You have to put the file u have created in windows file to work properly) That's it.U have changed your start button icon Now if u want to get it work just reboot your pc Or open the task manager, go to the processes tab and stop process explorer.exe. Then a window will appear and will ask u if u want to stop the process.Just press confirm. And now Click-> File->New task and write the name of your file.exe that u saved in windows file.Press ok and u are done. ATTENTION!! U don't have to delete your old file explorer.exe just create a new file with different name and put it in windows folder.And when u have done all this if u have a very good antivirus it might show up that it is a virus... Just ignore this because it's not truth. It's already tried by me many times. P.S. Video is coming soon for better understanding.
