Tutorial - WinRAR Introduction: WinRAR has become one of the most popular archiving programs for Windows today. It enables users to put multiple files into one archive, which also reduces the over-all file size using “compression” schemes. Once files have been “zipped,” they can be stored (as the one file) on disk, sent across the internet, and more. WinRAR’s strength lies within its ability to handle multiple file types, as well as its advanced compression options. Opening WinRAR: WinRAR is pre-installed on all Rutgers University computers. To open the program, go through the “Start” menu in the bottom left of the screen. Start >> Programs >> Utilities >> WinRAR Note that very rarely will you have to actually open WinRAR like this. Once installed, it integrates seamlessly into Windows, allowing you to perform functions with WinRAR by simply right-clicking files and making selections within, for example, the Windows Explorer environment. Creating a RAR-ed Archive: Let’s assume that you have a few text files that you would like to e-mail to someone, but you do not want to send them all as separate files or attachments. By compressing them all into a single RAR archive, you can e-mail one single file that the receiver can then “un-zip” or “un-rar” back into all of the original files you compressed. Locate the files you wish to compress, and select them all (click and drag, or hold “Ctrl” on the keyboard as you click them individually). Now, right-click the files and select “Add to archive…” A new window will appear asking you to give a name to the archive; you can give the file any name you wish in the “Archive name” text area. The newly created file will default to the same directory as the files you are compressing; if you wish to save it elsewhere, click the “Browse” button and select the directory to save to. Once you are ready, click “OK.” Clicking “OK” will tell WinRAR to go ahead and proceed with the compression. It will (very quickly!) flash a new window showing the progress of the compression. Depending on the number and sizes of your files, the time it will take to compress may vary. When WinRAR has completed the compression, the new file will appear in the directory you specified. Un-RAR-ing / Un-Zip-ing: If you receive a RAR file (or ZIP or ACE; WinRAR can handle them all), you will probably want to uncompress it to view the files contained inside. Decompressing is even easier than compressing! Double-click the RAR file you wish to decompress. NOTE: If there is a series of RAR files (such as file.rar, file.001, file.002, etc.) click the main file.rar – this is the file that will initiate the rest of the decompression; more on multiple/split files later. (NOTE: WinRAR may ask you to register the program upon opening the file. Simply click “Close.”) A new WinRAR window will open showing the files contained in the compressed file. You can extract files (either individually or as a whole) in one of two ways. Drag and Drop Select the file(s) you wish to extract (in the WinRAR window), and simply drag them over to the location you with to extract them to (such as another Windows Explorer window that is open to a specific directory). Extract To… Select the file(s) you wish to extract, and click the “Extract To” button. A new window will appear asking where you wish to extract the files to. Browse to the desired directory, and click “OK.” Advanced Options: WinRAR has a wide variety of extra compression options that you are free to investigate, and may actually find useful on occasion. After right-clicking files to add them to an archive, the normal window will appear. On the “General” tab, there are a variety of extra options, however: Archive Format If you are unsure whether the person you may be sending the file to has WinRAR or not, you may wish to save in ZIP format (an older compression format, read by many other programs, such as WinZIP). Compression Method “Normal” is the default, but you can change this to higher settings. It will take longer to compress the files, but the over-all file size will be smaller in the end. Split to volumes, bytes This is probably one of WinRAR’s most powerful functions. If your final RAR archive is too large, you can have WinRAR automatically split it up into many, smaller RAR files that can be later combined. This is useful if you need to split up the archive among floppy disks or CD-Rs. WinRAR has a short menu of pre-sets, but you are free to enter your own numbers, as well. Please note that WinRAR asks for the number in bytes (1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte). I make this topic for newbies with winrar.I dont think they are many but anyway. Thanks for reading... Yea thats true.This restart close programms which you dont need.But some of your memmory working...Folow my guide to clean your memory and it's like you do a normal restart ;)

For me,works exelent.If you want try it on your own risk.

Cheat engine is dangerous yes,because you make your ram works very fast and can crash your comp.This will only change theme of xp, so with this theme ram dont lose much memory and works faster ;)

Whats your pc's version and pack?Windows xp sp1,sp2,sp3? Windows vista sp1,sp2? I test it in xp so maybe it works only for xp

Ok i will show you one simple trick to test your antivirus. Open your notepad. Paste this code: X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H* (The text should be in one line.) Save file as "checkantivirus.com" including quotation-marks (make sure it is saved in extention . com) A few seconds after saving this file, your Anti-Virus should come with the message that this file is infected with virus asking permission for its deletion/clean. This file is secure and its not going to infect your computer in whatever way. It is a standard text developed by the European Institute for Computer Anti-virus Research (EICAR). Every Anti-Virus is programed to load this file as a virus. If your Anti-Virus will not detect this file as a virus, a program will appear as DOS window with this text EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE. If this happens then you should probably find some other Anti-Virus up to date as you are not fully protected. I hope i help you :)

Just change it again to your previous theme.But it is for computers with small perfomance as i say ;)

I think its already shared but i want to explain it better with photo. 1`) Go in your system properties ( right click on My computer and properties ) 2`) Go in settings Tab . 3`) In visual effects . 4`) One more trick . # Open notepad and type "MYSTRING=80000000" # Then save it as "ram.vbe" on your desktop only ! # And then just double click on it # This will boost your RAM P.S it will change theme of pc but perfomance will be better.Reccomended for pc's with small ram/perfomance. I try it to XP but the buttons are same in all Pc's so i think it works on vista and 7 too

When you click on the SHUTDOWN button, make sure to simultaneous press SHIFT Button. If you hold the Shift key down while clicking on SHUTDOWN button, you computer would restart without restarting the Computer. Have Fun. I found this from my false,so credits go to my fingers :)
