In my opinion, what pushes the players away, besides the bugs, are the heavy donation systems most of the servers have. Actually, I’ve never played on a server with a fair, not pay2win in mind System. Like hell, even the official server is a p2w and it‘s probably still full with bugs too. I understand that if you look at the bigger picture - it’s just a business. And @Kara`, you can’t be more right (maybe?). What we’ve seen over the years were ideas and different views of “This is how I’d like it to be”. Thanks for the Dion Theme. :) @xdem Yes, this is something that has always bugged me, but I’ve seen videos with tons of players, and still smooth gameplay, even though it was recorded at the same time. And games like WoW have surpassed L2 in terms of gameplay, optimisation and even better graphics. Maybe it’s a limitation of the Unreal 2 Engine? (Or just bad coding?) @Anarchy, I’ve always though that L2OFF is better than L2J, but after some experience as a player (never hosted L2OFF), I think that both have their pros, cons and bugs. And this, again, is just my POV on “how the game should be”. :) What I’m getting from your replies is that, it’s not the technology that is limiting us, but more like the players’ psychology. And the L2Client too. :D

Hello, everybody! Long time no see. How's everybody doing? :) This question may have already been asked/answered. However, couldn't find anything, but a topic from 2005 on another forum. Since then, L2J, Java, MySQL and technology in general have come a loooooong way, which makes the answer there a little outdated. So, does anyone know how many players can a Java server handle today? Let's say that we have a dedicated server with: Quad/Hexa/Octa-core CPU; 32GB of Memory; NVMe SSD (or even just HDD); 1Gbps connection, A Linux distribution, let's say Debian, or even Windows? Or even using a maxed out machine with tons of ram and multi CPUs. Are there any limitations in Java/MySQL, that can be an obstacle for a large amount of simultaneous connections? I guess it would matter if the server is Interlude or High Five too. Maybe there are other 'IFs' as well. Let's discuss this. I'm sure the answers and conclusions will be helpful for all of us. Thanks!

Well as a HL player i must say: This is the original Half-Life crossbow model and it can be easily copied from valve to cstrike, and nothing is edited here... :) I think the credits must go to the Valve's Designers :) PS: Sry 'bout the F4 button, i wanted to press F5 to screen, but i pressed the wrong one >.>

I think the cheat may changed your cs settings... Open your CS Options, click on the Multiplayer tab then click on Advanced. A window must pop-up: Look the line "Multiplayer decal limit". If the value is 0 - change it to 600 (i think that was the default) I am using 0, because... dunno o.O If this is not working - try to delete "Tempdecal.wad" in the cstrike folder..

Well, I started on C3 7x (l2 hobby) and i didn't know anything about L2.. One friend told me the basics (SoE, mobs, skills) I wasn't a serious player and i reached 20 lvl really slow :D.. I was a Spell howler and i had a lot of problems with my quest... I remember farming in Ruins of Despair and just running behind a bot and picking up his drop. I got 800k WOW... Never thought i'll have so many adena.. When i got 30 lvl i teleported myself to Giran.. Then i saw D grade items :D:D.. 33 lvl bought Karmian Tunic for 1.5kk And weared it of course :D (it must give me 15% cast speed lol). Tried to lvl in Bandits stronghold.. Yeah 33 lvl in Bandit Stronghold.. Lol.. wtf was i thinking..? :D (there was no lvl showed on the mob's title) I killed 10-15 mobs maybe and i died... Of course i droped the Karmian tunic and walked back from Ivory Tower to Bandit Stronghold to pick it up.. :) (I found it.. thanks god). Then one friend told me about lvls and grades.. :) Then lvling in Cruma to 48 lvl... With my Spoiler i was lvling 47-55 (i played like a bot :D) in the end of the Cemetery 3 days (7:00 - 22:00 in Internet club).. Every day i was doing the same things... 30k+ SSC 500+ HP pots 100+ Haste pots and Pots of alacrity :D I got Eminence bow from a mob LOL And that's my Story :D:D
