for make mountable npc you need to get right bone with right class , and for the prob of the char sitting in ground and not npc that because your bone got bad position of pivot ^^

i see your prob are a common prob of 3ds max 2009 / 2010 on certain machin , just try to found 3DS max 8 and reexport it as OBJ and now you got it working for sure a 100% (to make a model from 3ds 2010 (or 2009) to max 8 just export as 3DS and import it as it on 3ds max 8 =))

Creat you OWN animation , you already in illegality ! why ? probably cracked version of 3ds max ? Modify client L2 ! you ripped coryrighted Mesh and texture , but why not animation ? you can't ? oki just learn bone and sking and make small pretty animation and you will got your OWN animation WITHOUT animation ea or other developer copyright , and i think they didn't care at all that you "use" there mesh and animation trust me :p oh and you didn't need java at all for make you own animation ;) (i didn't know anythink in java code but i can make my own animation ^^) good luck :p if you need any tips and help i can always help you =)

sorry i can be rude but i didn't like t because of one think : you missed the alpha at all ... in UE go in properties of your texture and check the "IsAlpha" it's will look much MUCH better =) good luck =)
