Topic about a serious server.

Hi guys,I'm thinking to create a serious server with donate.But I mean really serious.I don't know if there are many people who play L2 now,but to be honest I like this game although is quite old.

 

So back to bussiness,I'm looking for good dedicated servers.

If anyone knows how can I create a donation system so the people who donated can get automatically staff they ordered.

 

I really liked L2 Elite in the past,but I'm planning to create it in l2j,since I don't know nothing about l2 off.

How can I create a beautiful webpage?(I only know about ucoz :(.This will ruin the server,I know.

 

I want seriously to blow away the competition in Hopzone.I'm thinking about a mid rate server maybe xp100,but really close to the official.And maybe another fun server x5000.

 

*I don't want to create the servers in order to play for my self,to have heroes players and fun with my friends.I see it strictly as bussiness.Even if I can earn in the beggining about 40 euros or 30 I would be extremely happy.

Hetzner is great but the fact that the first 150€ + 50=200€.+ webpage is a lot of money,for me.

yes and this is way to low for a l2 server^^

 

if u plan the server runs for long time the setup fee isn't that bad... other company's maybe don't have the setup fee but the monthly fee is way bigger... + u may have a bad machine

 

also at the start u can run the website from the server machine... but even a web server don't cost that much ^^

I 've searched a lot and Hetzer is far the best for WoW server and l2 and for others games also.

 

I'm thinking about the first payment which is 200€.That's the only sad thing that troubles me.As for the server I had already prepared it about a year ago and it was Interlude.

 

But L2 game is still active?I mean are there many players out there?,because I think in the past 2006 and 07 was one of the greatest MMO,but now I see that it's downfall began from 2008 and every year it's worse or it isn't?I really don't know about that fact.

You should not think about L2 server as a bussines try to start with minimum investment and see if ur project is any good!

Anyway we all know what normal L2 players is like,they have so much choice in these days they can change servers 5 times a day and slag of ur project for no reason!

I have started about 4 months ago and if you dont have any knowledge you will end up paying for everything and from budget you have its not gonna be enough!

I looked at all tops and i kept looking on few servers that have spent a lot of cash on banners and stuff like that and it looks like a huge fail!

 

So anyway think of something special but then again without knowledge it will be hard!

I have already made my decision and I will raise money,work the project and probably I will set it up.I will work the server and my friend from Greece will set up the webpage who is a programmer.Now because I live in Sweden I have a bank account,not credit cards.Can Hetzner take money from there?

 

my budget 1000.00 kr=111.38€ monthly

this means 538.68 kr =60€ per month=server maintenance+webpage.

first payment 2000.00 kr=222.77€

 

So will Hetzner accept my kronor?

 

If yes what do you suggest Linux(I don't know how to build on linux server)isn't the same as Windows?

since hetzner is an international company as u see they have an english web page too ^^

they will accept money from other countries as well...

 

linux is way difference as win so if u don't have one who can manage the linux server u have to get a win server ofc this cost 25€ more...

and yes the EQ4 is perfect for the start ;)

EQ4 is probably one of the best offers for dedicated servers in relation of price/quality, if not the best

but you need the knowledge to run it, or find someone who does know linux

don't think it's like windows, it's one black screen like DOS what you are dealing with

Linux is best for java servers anyway!

There was a guide on how to setup server on linux i did it with 1st attempt

Also you should get ISP Manager PRO it will help you otherwise you will only see Putty console which is pretty difficult for newbies in linux to understand!

Anyway it is based on commands,all commans can be found in google just type in lets say: Linux make direccotry command and you will find how to do that

I have this problem when I try to create a player.

About crappy servers having top place on tops,those are new generation L2 players who want everything easy,fast and cool!

Like i sad before if they dont see NPC buffer with full buff and Global gatekeepr they run away!

You need strong nervs anyway you will find out soon once u launch server :)
