Yeah why not? i7 is one of the most powerful ones out there... and yeah its true that you need to worry about the Ram if anything, but if its a small private server then 4 is more than enough, then if you think you need more upgrade to liek 8 and you should be good...

Ok first off all you people are just bullsthing and trolling now. i7 works with L2off... dVampire ( shit extender ) doesnt work with i7... You have more extenders then dvampire u know... you got nextdev ( which works great on a i7 and windows 2008(not 100% sure))  and you got ET which is gracia Final atm and it works on i7 and win 2008... hey but u have ur own option make your own extender and make it compatible with win 2008 and i7 :)

windows server 2008 as server OS sucks ;) I tested it and it's not worth using it, lol i7 is a desktop processor and Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron are server processors lol. Of course for server i prefer my old tyan motherboard http://www.tyan.com/product_SKU_spec.aspx?ProductType=MB&pid=560&SKU=600000004  ;) I Guess we are talking about "Servers" not home "PC" with a DSL connection.
