Nik Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 l2j has a license, but do you have to host a server?!?! L2J just creates the emulator... they are allowed to do that... You use the emulator, doent matter if the emulator is illegal or not... you arent allowed to USE the emulator TO CREATE A SERVER... you can do that if ncsoft permitted you Quote

Nik Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 well yeah, but in the most countries is forbidden... the best way is to make a server on a dedi, located in the country where it is allowed... Quote
Aster Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Attacker cannot be blamed since the defender cannot defend his project properly. If the servers/sites are fine and they (hacking team/group w/e) still breaking thru, then they are realy genious. Genious wont ask that kind of money from someone who CAN'T affort to pay. I believe you understood what i mean. Quote
Nik Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 yeah, thats why they are attacking the big server only... big server = big $$$ Quote
Phoenix4 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Attacker cannot be blamed since the defender cannot defend his project properly. How you can compare that ? Will you blame any phx user since the server DIDN'T protected it ? Will you blame botters and e-bayers since NC does NOT doin' something to stop em ? Wtf.... Quote

My gosh you know well that azure/l2inc and the other servers that got DDoSed by these guys weren't random servers , they are well protected l2j servers and with big community and in conclusion your point is that the russian hackers aren't the bad guys of the story ? lul let's donate for them and give them a prize. The attacker didn't did the attack to help the admin of the project but only for money so the attacker isn't the good boy simple. kriamst Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 DDOS attacks can be blocked by the company which is hosting their servers...They should report those attacks to them with an e-mail or something... My server had the same problem so they banned ip range(that included me) and had to unban ip's of players who had been banned(by one) Quote
FiX Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 From Me: Big Respect To The Russian Guys!!! Now I'm Their Fan ^_^. Quote

Just read my first post in that topic. Like I said, if they are PROS, they WONT ask money that admin/manager can't pay. And yea, if (e.g.) azure admin can affort to pay that kind of money (20k bucks) then i couldn't care less if they -beep-ed his server. Quote
phreak Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Who the hell said that having a private server is illegal? Slap your head a bit guys? Under some certain circumstances you can make it illegal. -Blane Then can you tell me, why L2Ownage closed?? No Donations, No patched system. Just hosts and L2J. What about this? Quote
