Probably he was editing his profile, and you can't view his profile ;)

this is shown to simple members/users when:

 

-someone looks his profile

-someone edits his profile

-someone looks other users profile

-a moderator is looking,posting,moderating sections you cant see

-a moderator or platinum changes others ppl karma

-a moderator or platinum watches the karma stats

-a moderator deletes replies

 

also donators and platinums have their own hidden section visible by global moderators and donator/platinum only (+maxtor)

Platinum and donators cant see the moderators section anymore

Platinums can see the junkyard , donator cant
