[Guide] Morphling, the Morphling!

The Morphling, nature's magnum opus, the pinnacle of evolution, can force his liquid body to flow over opponents in a massive wave, forcibly moving himself as well as injuring his enemies. At a whim he may change the composition of his body, trading strength for agility and vice versa. Capable of manipulating his energy into either disable or damage based on his strongest attribute, the Morphling's most disturbing ability creates a literal clone of a chosen target, forcing them to face their own reflection as he crushes them in their confusion.

 

 

Morphling is one of the best heroes in DotA, he deals insane damage and he can play every role you want him to play in a game. He can be a massive, unkillable tank or a hardcore dpser.

 

SPELLS :

 

 

Waveform

 

Morphling dissolves into his components and surges forward, dealing damage to everything in his wake.

 

Level 1 - 100 damage.

Level 2 - 175 damage.

Level 3 - 250 damage.

Level 4 - 325 damage.

 

Cooldown: 11 seconds.

 

Level 1: 140 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

Level 2: 155 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

Level 3: 160 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

Level 4: 165 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

 

NAB's comment : Amazing skill, you can escape, chase, damage, kill with this. The only drawback is the mana cost, but we 'll fix that.

 

 

 

 

Adaptive Strike

 

Blasts a target with magical energy, dealing damage or disabling the target based on the Morphling's dominant attribute between Agility and Strength.

 

Level 1 - 30 + 1.4x Agility in damage or stuns the target 1.4 seconds and knocks back slightly.

Level 2 - 60 + 1.8x Agility in damage or stuns the target 1.8 seconds and knocks back slightly.

Level 3 - 90 + 2.2x Agility in damage or stuns the target 2.2 seconds and knocks back slightly.

Level 4 - 120 + 2.6x Agility in damage or stuns the target 2.6 seconds and knocks back slightly.

 

Cooldown: 20 seconds.

 

Level 1: 100 mana, 20 sec cooldown.

Level 2: 100 mana, 20 sec cooldown.

Level 3: 100 mana, 20 sec cooldown.

Level 4: 100 mana, 20 sec cooldown.

 

NAB's Comment : This spell is pure win, it can deal massive damage ( can be compared to other hero's ultimates ) when you have more agility than strength, and it can also stun when you have more strength. It can help you in ganks and in PvP.

 

Morph

 

The Morphling edits his physical being to fit the circumstances. He can, at will, lose some strength and gain agility, or vice versa. The process is reversable.

Level 1 - 2 points per second. Gives a passive +2 Agility and Strength

Level 2 - 4 points per second. Gives a passive +4 Agility and Strength

Level 3 - 6 points per second. Gives a passive +6 Agility and Strength

Level 4 - 8 points per second. Gives a passive +8 Agility and Strength

Mana Cost: 0

Cooldown: 1 second

 

NAB's comment : This is how you change your stats to change roles in the game, some people turn to tanks when being chased too but I think the difference is not that big.

 

Replicate

 

The Morphling has the unique ability to replicate any target friendly or enemy hero. Although it only deals 50% damage, the hero can morph into his replication, instantly taking its position.

 

Level 1 - Lasts 30 seconds. 700 cast range.

Level 2 - Lasts 45 seconds. 1100 cast range.

Level 3 - Lasts 60 seconds. 1500 cast range.

 

Cooldown: 80 seconds.

 

Level 1: 25 mana, 80 sec cooldown.

Level 2: 25 mana, 80 sec cooldown.

Level 3: 25 mana, 80 sec cooldown.

 

NAB's comment : Early it can work as an escape mechanism. Late, it can work as a hardcore pushing spell, since you can replicate a major dpser and make him push for you.

ITEM BUILD :

 

BUILD # 1 : The Skadi build. It's based on High attack speed and skadi's slow effect.

 

 

BUILD #2 : The usual pub build, based on high dps and lifesteal, combined with survivability.

 

 

BUILD #3 : The Tank / DPS Hybrid. High HP, Surivability and satisfying damage.

 

 

BUILD #4 The Manta Style Build, illusions for high survivability and dps.

 

 

 

SITUATIONAL ITEMS :

 

When facing a lot of Int heroes

 

You can choose this for your orb slot since your DPS is high enough.

 

SnY is quite good actually but I think lifesteal or skadi are more effective on morphling.

 

When facing a lot of Nukers

 

you are actually a good chaser, but better leave Radiance for other heroes.

 

 

 

Why should I choose Morphling?

-Great dps.

-Can reach 3800 hp without items.

-You can change your stats when you need to.

-Escape Mechanism(s)

-You can replicate your teamates to confuse the enemies.

 

Why shouldn't I choose Morphling?

-The item builds are really expensive.

-Not noob friendly.

-Your spells cost mana, and you can't morph into an intellect hero.

-Changing stats can be quite confusing and frustrating.

WORST ENEMIES :

 

You cannot beat her late, she's too powerful for you.

 

She can own you early with impetus.

 

No mana=No waveform=Dead Morphling

 

She can destroy your replication in seconds.

I dont play with dominator , I play with manta because agi + dmg+ integent+ purge +ilusions=Dominator waveform + illusions=Undead

I would. but the Skadi build is too expensive, and I don't think it needs another orb, it is fine this way... high damage, high hp...frost effect...
