In some servers donations don't bother me, but in some when max enchant is 20 and donaters can buy +30 weps it's really not fun to play :D

All server with overpowered doantions are worthless trash imo, the good servers have donations for little things that won't take a huge impact on a server.. like second class transfer, some noblesse items or something. Servers need donations though, to keep it up, running and stable.. but not overpowered donations.

There can be donations that don't affect gameplay as in hats or colored names and stuff.

I wouldn't play on a low-rate server where you can buy eqipment... ON a high-rate server its something different though

Things to offer donators that won't directly affect or break pvp on a high rate:

Special head gears

Noblesse status from NPC without quest/adena (easily done)

Ability to freight augmented weapons (requires some coding to get that one to work, heh)

Full buffs from NPC (on high rates it's typically easy to make a full sub'ed buffer in a few hours or a day at the most so you just save them the trouble of dual boxing to get buffs)

Colored names/titles

Ability to earn pvp rewards from pvp/pk kills

 

Not to mention so much more that I haven't even thought of. Servers that offer up armor/weapons/adena merely do so because they're lazy and don't give a damn about balance. They have a number of things to offer players who donate as a way to say thank you but they take the easy way out and just give them shit that breaks the game.

Theirs tons of servers without donators. google ads pay upto 100 Euros a month, More than enough to cover any costs the data center need.

What pisses me off are the servers that ask for donations that are hosted at some fukers house with adsl l2raven.com Hosted on some canadians ADSL. bluddy cheek

Or these greek ones that keep appearing. Now romania is the new greece and romanians are getting ADSL and thinking they can open a server on 512 kb connection. And ask for donations its infuriating

Btw you can find out where your servers hosted, These days these "cheating admins" have you install an "updater" so you dont get the IP of the server they assume everyones a yidd and quite rightly most people are. Connect to your server and minimise, Open a cmd promt and type netstat. Copy the IP that ends with port 7777. Open google find an online IP sniffer, Insert IP and TADA your friends local donation server > Hosted at some retards house ;') If your not a complete moron you can then find their phone number and shout at them for wasting your time on their piece of trash home hosted server.
