High Five Experience Formula Issue

Question

Posted

I'm running a small x1 low rate High Five server. Some of my players are arguing that XP formula is incorrect.

They believe that monsters with HP multiplier (skill 4408) should always give more XP when killed. As far as I'm aware HP or any HP multiplier is not taken into account during XP calculation.

It's all about player and mob level and mob's experience multiplier from it's data. Furthermore, higher level mobs may give less XP than lower level ones just because their own experience multiplier is different.

Can anyone clarify this for me please?

I remember back in C3 times, Killing a Fettered Soul in Hardin's Academy gave 2x more exp than Windsus. The name for Fettered Soul was other though... cant remember what xD

But yeah, if 2x hp mobs give nearly the same exp as 1x hp mobs, you surely have something wrong.

We discussed it in public chat, the question is to know if acquire exp is modded or npc prop hp rate is included in formulas. The 1st was most likely.

Thanks guys. I'll look for the formula in the pack and see how it looks like. Some of my players insist that mobs with HP multiplier should give more XP.

However mob.level^2 * mob.experience.rate * server rate applies correctly when tested. Perhaps for those mobs with HP multiplier (Skill ID 4408) there should be another element in the equation.

Besides, if "mob.level^2 * mob.experience.rate * server rate" also applies in GOD without HP modifier then has it changed since High Five?

Thanks again :)

For the second question, no it hasn't changed. We just calculated it from final exp, so if we miss a parameter it goes straight into acquire exp rate.

I told you, take 5 min, go on a random retail server kill a fettered soul and do the rest for ya.
