Help Win 2008 Vs Win 2012

Hey folks, I'm curious which OS is better for hosting IL and why? Thanks

I'd recommend you going with 2008 R2.

2012 R2 will probably work, I've never bothered testing it as IL is old, 2012 R2 is fairly new.

 

2008 R2 has proven to be very stable running L2OFF extenders, it has pretty much all features you need in a windows server and in my opinion the GUI is still quite modern.

2008 R2 is not an outdated microsoft product and tbh I still prefer using it in most my windows server builds.

 

Now if you asked me to use 2008 or 2012 R2 for lets say a domain controller, I'd recommend 2012 R2 as we're talking about microsoft server roles.

If you use vang pack will work perfect on both. Personally I use 2012. If use advext you need 2003.
