Discussion Is There A Point In Starting A New Extender Now?

Oh well, you have been away for a very long time. 

 

Yep, something around 6 years I think. L2 always had a special place in my heart, although I stopped playing it so long ago.

 

Unfortunately, the person was correct. Just a blind shot RIGHT INTO THE ertheia's manual_pch.txt

 

That's not manual_pch (or I misunderstood you), but anyway haha... I'm a science person, I believe in what I see and can prove. If there's no server files for me to mess with, I will consider it to be just a rumor, even though it looks very real :)

 

Also on OP, I believe the mxc extender (made by mac) corrected all known bugs and all well known exploits.

 

Yeah I know, I saw his post... But I want to do the same fixes myself. I don't want to know how he fixed them, but I would like to know what bugs/exploits are those and how to reproduce them. Without knowing that, I can't really fix any of those. I know this is a pretty pointless task since he has shared it, but I like coding and I don't mind re-doing these fixes

Good for you man. If you shared that kind of information 5 minutes after release, it might have been useful for something. But I guess nowadays that is nothing new anymore.

 

No daemons available - doesnt matter anyway.

 

 That's pretty much why I created the topic. But based on the opinions I got so far, it seems to be a waste of time to create a new extender, even if it's for not-so-new clients like HF. I'm still going to wait for more opinions before deciding anything, though.

Any project above highfive is almost exclusively a script project, updating the network and adding in the few new systems and race is trivial, few weeks work at best compared to the months upon months you'd be spending trying to get scripts right.

Hello Actually im a newbie regarding l2off development and extenders , but if you plan something i would like to help you with what i can , and even learn more in the process !!

 

 

As for extender around h5 , there is a good chance to be done something , good !! since we can find many things on the net, without start  guessing!!

 

If you are willing count me in!! :D
