nah im ok with that. I am just concerned i will need to alter fortune seeker to a dagger/archer based class and also make 2 new mage classes one buff and healer based and one dps. Apart from that i think it will work.

Classes are server side, you don't need to alter anything at all

I mean, add another custom class to dwarfs, like archer, mage that will also be a choice for base class, that can join oly too

There was a server somewhere with loads of mods. Quake sounds and all.

Race war is identical to faction server, with sides just being races. Nothing special or interesting.

There is barely any motivation to create meaningful conflict between TWO sides, nevermind 5 or 6...

You really want to make a new server? Strip L2 down to the very basics, regardless of chronicle. Even if it involves leaving chars at 1st prof with bloody windstrike.

Before you start adding skills and items and shit, figure what is there to do in the game.

I think exploration has potential. Loads of areas that never saw use. Maybe like spawn somewhere random and then you get to survive. Not zombie survival or someshit, no food and water. Just use whatever gear you fin to get past obstacles. Maybe no/little/limited teleportation. Really visceral feelings in regards to meeting other players (trust, cooperation, etc).

Then instead of PVP counter you count how many hours someone survived outside of safezone. Full drop on death, etc.

Not hardcore; it may sound hardcore, but consider conditioning a new standard - where players are less carebear and are more brave, and don't cry for every loss/death.

I truly believe that exploration in l2 might have potential but people just won't play it. I feel that I have so many good ideas but the l2 community just won't get past the f1 servers.

I'm not gonna preach and say that you should follow your "dreams" or whatever.

I wouldn't believe in it myself.

I think the key to success is systematic assembly of a plan. A lot of people say that custom L2 server would fail on the simple principle that people don't like to learn new things. Well, the obvious solution to is either making things simple enough that people can learn new things intuitively, or through non-compulsory tips like perhaps in the form of ambiguous and open ended quests.

BUT, if you already identified that people won't play it, then you oughta know what they would play. I think an event-type server in general (drawing parallels from faction/race war servers) can show success.

However, it is already known that these servers (or any server with artificially bloated progression SPEED) die quickly. I think identifying the reason for this, and then coming up with a solution, can end up in an opportunity for a good server.

Also, using other servers for study examples is worth it. For example: InfiniteL2, GvE and etc, always end up in a wipe after 2-3 months. I played InfiniteL2 and I think the problem is that there is a distinct time: "half-life" to the server - everyone knows (like a dogs instinct) when there is a point where vets are so far ahead that starting from scratch is pointless. You can even notice it because people rush to get as far as possible (in terms of progression) in the first few days.  Ironically, the vets get tired because there is no competition. I think this is intuitive - you need to progress to compete with them, but they (naturally) prevent you from doing it (by killing you). Find a way to combat this, and I think you can get a solid, long-term event-type server (faction or not).

Probably not. CBA to read it TBH.

The Soulshot/Spiritshot system.

The ss system is redesigned. Now the soulshots and spiritshots are not purchasable. However every time you equip a weapon
the sytem will check if you have more than 1 soulshot or spiritshot for this grade of weapon. If you don't you will be rewarded
with a packet of 5000 soulshots and spiritshots of this grade and they will be auto enabled. If your ss count gets 2 or less
you will automatically recieve 5000 mroe ss.

Ok. But why do you need 4 lines to explain this?

The Soulshot/Spiritshot system.

Soulshots and spiritshots are not purchasable. If you don't have SS you will automatically get SS/SPS/BSPS? of the correct type.

The curse,debuff,stun system.

All the spells have a standard cooldown which is not affected by your casting speed and all the debuffs have a 100% chance and standard duration. For example Stunning shot now has a 24 seconds cooldown and 3 seconds duration.

In any case I am playing EVE.
