Hello :)
I'm back with another question about client modding.
I installed an H5 L2J server in minutes. Everything works fine.
Still, I tried to edit UTXs with no luck.

I've found this topic about rebuilding UTX pack from scratch.

Will it work on H5 clients? Or should I pick an older client (I'm thinking about Gracia Epilogue because we want cloaks and kamaels)?

Tx  ^-^

The only hard to mod is from higher chronicles to lower.

I see.

Still I'm not well aware about how to add textures and models to L2. I saw people adding new textures for armors and even animated models but I couldn't find much information about packing new stuff into L2.  :(

interlude is probably the easiest but im pretty sure that h5+ has more options/flexibility but i'm not sure about god+

if your file isnt working you might have fucked up something during the encryption/replacement part or isnt writing it in grps correctly

Hm, let's see. This is my situation so far:

* I can edit .DAT files both in GloryDays and H5, except chargrp.dat so no classic underwear patch for me...

* I can open UTX with Umodel, but I'm unable to pack TGAs back into the game.

* I can't open UTX with l2decrypt>L2tool>UnrealED, no matter if files come from GloryDays or H5. I know this process is old, but I'd be able to close and re-encrypt UTX into the game...

* I'm unaware about how to create a completely new armor to add to the game.

* I can edit maps on H5, thus I didn't try them in the game, yet.

* I couldn't find any hint about how to add new models to the game.

As you can guess, right know I'm pretty stuck with everything on both clients I'm trying to mod.  :-\

about l2decrypt, here's a reply given in acis forums from spirit517, including the image for better understanding

For thouse who want to do the same, now i try to explain how exactly to do that:

1. You take ogirinal .utx and use L2Decrypter.exe (drag and drop). I creates name.decrypted.utx.

2. Next use L2Tool.exe on the decrypted .utx. Here is image tutorial by SweeTs for this step. http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/369/25350351ji4.gif

3. Now you can open this utx in UnrealED and do your changes. (delete original and import new .tga edited in photoshop, gymp or other.)

NOTE: When you importing new .tga via UnrealED (File->Import...) use right compression (DXT1/2/3). Simply check (in UnrealED, written right next to the name) the compression of .tga you are replacing and do the same when you´r importing new one.

4. Save your edited utx. (File->Save...)

5. Now tkae that and drag and drop to L2Decrypter again. It automaticly recognizes that utx is decrypted and encrypt it in 121 crypting type.

6. Now you done. Just pase this utx with right name into systexture folder and that´s it.

NOTE: When you later want to edit that texture again, you do not need L2Tool it again. Jus decrypt and that encrypt via L2decrypter

utx is the most simple thing to edit on l2, the fresh l2tool (the java8 one) will do all those steps you described in 2 clicks.

The core stuff is ukx u and unr, if you can edit those you are the client king

YEAH!
Today I managed to add a new armor and edit the chargrp.dat in GloryDays!

Thank you for your last hints, I missed some info. :D
