Discussion Private Servers: Any Sense?

hi dudes,

it's a long time this game is out,

a lot things have changed in this years,

and i have no time to play retail anymore,it's too much pay to win,too much time consuming,too much everything.

 

so my question is:

 

is there any sense in joining a private server,

if ALL OF THEM seems to be an announced failure?

 

every server i see last max 1 year,no way to make it be like it was years ago,when a priv server could last 5 years or even more.

 

i'd like to play this game again,

but is there any sense in wasting time for the next and the next and the next opening server?

 

what's your point of view about?

 

really want to know.

Good server with good staff are extremely rare and trying to pick one that is opening in the hopes that it will last and not die quickly is pretty tough. You can wait for an already well established community to open a server as it has a better chance of succeeding (such as Dex for example). But even than what are the chances that it will be the Chronicle and rates you are looking for.

 

Best advice i can give you is on this is watch upcoming servers that match what you are looking for than do the following:

 

- Check their site. Is it clean, professional with correct grammar and spelling? Is it just a rip of another site or have they done their own work? Is their control panel a copy paste from the shares section here on MXC?

- Are they using Official or L2J? This is by no means definitive but still gives at least a bit of an idea on quality and technical abilities.

- Talk to the owners on their forums or even better on their IRC if they have one and ask questions. How they reply should be a indicator on their maturity and demeanor and depending on the questions also their knowledge and technical skills.

 

 

It takes a little work but spending a little time now can save you a massive amount of time lost ingame.

1 year ? You mean 1 week or 1 month at best.. You ask why? Well, bcs now you can just download a pack and you're ready to go (l2j) or you just pay some $$ (l2off), "one click" and you're ready to open a server. And so, many kids does like that, w/o having a lil bit knowledge about. They are just wannabe admins/gm, corrupted shit and such. :P

 

If you want a long-term server, pick existing server which is alive since "ages" :)

there should be a thread about stable trustworthy servers,

it would help many players to avoid wasting time.

 

can you please tell me some big names?(apart Dex i already know).

Depends on what chronicle are you looking for, rates and etc :)

 

You can try russian servers, they don't die so quickly.
