We have a solid list for closed beta it will be starting in a few days. Again there is no eta on how long it will last. we have a lot of testing to do.

Pardon me for being Offtopic, but have you made a final decision about server rates?

Many suggestions have been provided by users, but i would like to have a clear answer by the staff.

The decision was just made today on the rates which will be base rates of 7x. We feel this is the most balanced number based on the feedback we have received over the last 2 weeks.

Er, I was hoping for something a lot closer to mid...x15 or something like that!

But keeping it low means your project will attract more people that are willing to stay longer than just a couple of weeks. About the box thing, don't allow more than two per pc/ip, but don't go for only 1...

It'll drive away those who can't spend more a couple of hours per day grinding!

Thanks adsfa :) The dual-box thing is  such a touchy subject it is really hard to find out what will make the majority happy. The main reason people usually want to dual-box is to have buffs all the time. What we are thinking is we may implement offline buffshops, this way buffer classes can make some money while off and people never have a hard time finding buffs. At the same time it doesn't take anything away from active buffers that want to get in a duo or party and go lvl as people will want that over coming back to town every 20 minutes. The offline shops also raise the amount of Adena that goes into the server economy which is a great thing.

 

If we implement offline buff shops than no boxing would be allowed. What do people here think about that?

Casting speed for mages for sleep:    (fast or slow)

Which castles will be active.:            (Beside the standard, gludio, dion, giran "Schurttgart, rune, goddard" ?)

What is max level for clan:

Is knight system in this version:

Does clans have skills:

What is max level:

Is there S grade gear:

Is there gear in shops or all craft:

Is there gonna be any type of npc buffer:

Will there be retarde arguments?:

S grade is available through craft, no npc buffers, max level is 78 if I remember correctly, auguments were introduced in IL.

 

No box and offline buffshop is actually a decent idea.

Sleep is slow (C4 had lol sleep)

Full retail means all castles available,no custom npcs (such as npc buffers-gm shops),no augments in C5,max lvl is 80 (no skills after 78), there is clan system (with reputation points and clan skills)

True I can't remmebe c5 I tryed so many horribel Interlude, gracia, karmal, hell bound and so on servers with so many unbalance stuff that it simply became impossible to just like the game.

 

To many options is not always better, sometimes it is just enough as it is....

For what I can see the only retarde thing in c5 is the clan system that fcked up l2 big time.

 

You no longer had many clanleaders you had one and the idea of alot of clans working close together was no longer needed, cause one clan could hold a army strong enough for everything, imo Alliance became irrelevant by this action...

    • Lol good joke.   If I'd be the one contacting yo then I'd say at least 50% in advance because you can basically just fuck off when things doesn't go your way, and then you as a developer just wasted days or even weeks of time with development.

The MIT license became a buffet for people to grab code, rebrand it and ghost the project. Even basic collaboration collapsed because everyone wanted their vision, not *a* vision. NCSoft’s lawyers aren’t theoretical. They’re a sword of Damocles. Even if you rebuild a client from scratch, if it feels like Lineage 2, they’ll come knocking. Ask the Chrono Trigger fangame corpses how that goes. MMOs are hospice care. The genre’s on life support, kept alive by whales and nostalgia. Look at Throne and Liberty, NCSoft’s own "successor" to L2, flopping harder than a 2004 PKer in ToI. Classic reboots (WoW, L2) are bandaids, not resurrections. This is the hobby. Optimizing old systems, reverse-engineering spaghetti code and preserving janky mechanics is the fun part. Monetizing it turns it into customer service hell. No thanks. Community? What community? The L2 scene is 90% resellers, 10% players who’ll quit the second they don’t get +16 on day one. Both asking how to install Java and why running the uncompiled server does not work.
