Well if a timeline is not well protected then it deserve it, i think serious project are well protected so no worries. Btw with that been said you can also use the svn command to do million things. type svn help or svn help (command) to see what you can do.

There is a way to steal even private svn but i wont tell it in public. ontopic: good guide its usefull also for personal use.
