  1. UPDATE 2/24/2013: The project was on hold because I moved and started a new job this month. I have resumed working on the project, updates soon! L2 Zombies is unlike anything you have ever experienced before in Lineage 2. We are going to give players a new perspective of what direction a Lineage 2 private server can take. Website coming soon This is a fresh project under heavy development. Since development has only began, these are only details on the core gameplay and everything is subject to change. Core Gameplay Overview Upon creating your character you will spawn at a random location in Lineage 2 with little to no equipment The world is plagued with zombies and hell-like creatures. There is no safe haven or refugee There are no levels. You are focusing on gear, skill enchants, and other things to make you powerful It's realistic. You have no natural health regeneration and you have to eat food or hunger will debuff you. We will be using the vitality bar as the hunger system, there will be multiple stages of hunger Trust no one. If you die you can lose equipped gear and items in your inventory. Some players may see that shiny armor and decide you're done using it Whether you choose to be a lone wolf or party up with fellow survivors, you will explore the world in search of supplies, equipment, and even other players Creating a clan and capturing a fortress or castle will give you a place to relax and possibly access to special shops The Chest Spawn Engine will spawn supply, armor, and weapon chests all over the world, in random locations. The chests are respawned every hour so they may appear in different locations and refresh any opened chests. There are also different grades of chests: common, rare, and epic. Different types of chests will be implemented before release that will serve specific purposes Chests are party-friendly and everyone in your party that is near the chest (except a dual boxed character) will roll their own loot, as if they opened the chest alone There will be an achievements system with rewards Bandit system - similar to the PK system, but killing a bandit will yield great rewards. Punish those players who choose to gain power through evil deeds This is just a basic overview, we plan to have in-depth systems/features that will give players a new goal every time they turn. There is so much we can do with this server, I am very excited! Additional Features Zombie AI controlled towns that players can siege to globally benefit the server. Player controlled towns will spawn shops and special NPCs. Once a town is controlled it will reset a few hours later, then there is a downtime in which the town can't be controlled. Each town will have a different type of siege Sieges will be dynamic and fun Not every town will be siegable The siege is a pvp zone and there is no penalty for dying [*]There are no classes. Each race will have a racial skill and their original con, dex, etc. You will choose from skills available to everyone, but are limited to how many you can have. You can unlock more skills and/or special skills through achievements. You will be free to reset your skills at a player controlled town and try different builds. 2. For those who don't know DayZ, it's a popular ArmA 2 mod that is all about surviving after a zombie apocalypse. You explore the land, salvage items, kill zombies, and interact with other players (both hostile and friendly). It's realistic - you have to eat, drink, bandage yourself, and just survive as long as you can, at all costs. For anyone who hasn't seen my other posts, I am an experienced Java developer and have already created several of my own custom pvp events and other random things. My question is, do you think this type of gameplay could work for Lineage 2? Or would the medieval setting not synergize well with surviving a zombie apocalypse. Below is a quick overview of the basic gameplay, I just thought of this idea last night so I really can't go much into detail. The world is plagued with zombies and hell-like creatures. There is no refugee or safe haven. Your mission is to survive, at all costs. When you create a charcter, you will spawn randomly in the world with little to no equipment. Items will spawn on the ground in random locations, such as buildings or a town. You will need to salvage these items (whether it be gear, food, or health items). Since there is food, you would be able to salvage food and/or hunt the food from resourceful mobs. There are no levels, but possibly unique skills to classes. I have yet to think of a way to incorporate skills into this, unless it's finding books from salvaging. The game is realistic. There is no health regeneration, you need bandages to stop bleeding (if you a hurt enough, you will bleed out), and you will need food and health potions. If you die, all of your gear is dropped (inventory and equipped). Players can loot your equipment. You will start over, being spawned in the world. The only thing you will keep is skills and such. Every class will be stripped of their skills and have the entire skill table re-made (you will still have your basic must- have passives). Each class with a unique skill(s) possibly. You can't trust anyone. There could be friendly players out there, but some will be looking to strip you of your gear and gain precious loot. There will be a bandit system. If you kill players you become a bandit, if survivors (non-bandits) kill you, then they would get some extra rewards. This is just the basic idea. Of course if I were to do this, I would go much further into detail and utilize a lot of the features Lineage 2 has to offer, such as crafting and many other things. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
  3. Of course not EVERYTHING is possible. However, I can bring most any event ideas/features to life in some way or another.
  4. So basically you and your "boss" want to be the puppet masters when you have developers creating everything for you? I have been developing Java, SQL, and .NET for several years now and I would never take on this project. What are you and your "boss" contributing to the server, other than orders? Your "qualifications" puts you in the role of being a GM, nothing else. You two are not experienced enough to start a Lineage 2 server, you don't even know how to set it up. If a developer wanted to help with this project, they would be better off creating their own.
  5. I am up to making a complete server. I have been working with L2JServer high 5 files, but any source in Java will be fine. I have no idea about rates or any of those details because I am unsure of what to create. I am only gathering ideas for a project to see if I can come up with a concept that will be worth the time and effort. This would most likely be a fully custom pvp server. With unique events and a several unique gameplay features to keep players entertained on a high rate server.
  6. I am an advanced Java developer and have been playing around with Lineage 2 for quite awhile. I am able to create just about anything I can imagine. This includes an automated global event system, a few unique pvp events, dynamic scripted leveling zones, custom scheme buffer in java, donation system that works with funds on your account (automated via PayPal), rebirth system, and a few other randoms. I have some fresh files and was looking for a project to keep me busy. I don't know if I will launch or just share some customs with the community, but i'd like everyone's ideas. You can give me a server overview or event ideas. Doesn't have to be pvp events, can be pve events. I just want to know some crazy and entertaining thoughts on what you would like to see in a server. The limit is the sky. If you need to contact me you can do it by email or pm: chrisbbradley.dev@gmail.com
  7. PM me some of your ideas. I am an experienced Java developer and can create just about anything I can think of in lineage 2. So far I have created an automated event system, 2 custom pvp events, scheme buffer in java, dynamic scripted leveling zone, in-game donation system (website used VB.NET), and a lot of other random stuff. This was all created in an attempt to learn how it works. I just started browsing these forums because I downloaded some fresh files and wanted to start a project. Any ideas for a server and/or custom features (i.e. events) is greatly appreciated. PM Me :)
  8. I graduated college with a degree in Computer Science and am currently looking for a job. In the mean time I hope to make some spending money creating custom pvp events, pve events, and anything else for any server who wants it. My Work: Automated Event System - Allows players to vote for the next event and register with a voice command. The system teleports players to and from the event (back to their original location). Korean PvP Event - Everyone is lined up in the arena and paralyzed, then players fight 1v1. When someone dies, the next person in line is unparalyzed to continue fighting. Control Point PvP Event - 2 teams fight over a center point. If you stand in the zone your team gets points. You get more points for more players in the zone. Custom zone - Players farmed monsters and after x amount of kills a big rare mob appeared. When the party killed the mob, everyone had their own loot distributed to them (each person had their own drop chance calculated). This was a neat feature because everyone in the party got special loot (except dual boxes). Created my own Scheme Buffer - built off of the existing L2J core buffer. This allowed players to choose from auto buffs or scheme buffs. During events I limited the buffs they could receive (new buff menu if you were in an event) Automated donation system - VB.NET on the web server side. Players could spend their donation monet in-game at a shop. Funds were stored in the database and the shop was written in JAVA to use those funds. Implemented +50% XP and SP runes that you keep in your inventory. I have done a lot more work than this, but these are the ones worth mentioning. I am capable of creating just about anything you can think of, so it would be custom for your server. All my work is with L2J Server (because I know the structure and classes they use). If you are interested and would like a quote or to talk over an idea, please email me at: chrisbbradley.dev@gmail.com. Thanks!

  10. Stop spamming the MxC thread about our server issues atm. You can talk about it on our forums.
  11. Donations are in-game. It's misc items like hair accessories, vit pots, title color. I haven't finished the shop yet but it's not going to be anything OP. Yes, there is some H5 content missing, but I am fixing things every day. Items from GoD.. no this is H5, not GoD.
  12. This has been changed - anyone can get all buffs from NPC buffer now. We don't have features? I'm about to release a PvP point system. That + the high-end material gathering, SoDA script zone, and the custom scheme buffer i'm coding should be enough for you to say "wow, I see potential in this server". If not, you obviously are a -beep-ing troll. I code everything myself, I am not using shares.
  13. We have an active community of 30+ players. Still waiting for Hopzone/Topzone to approve our server, then we are going to do paid advertisement.
  14. Quad core Xeon - 12GB RAM - 100Mbs Unmetered Port - DDoS Protection.
  15. Smok3, the reason there are no GMs online is because we stayed up until 7AM making sure the launch went smooth. You can find S grade at the armor shop and weapons shop in Giran and Aden. Also, if you have a comment, suggestion, or bug report how about post it on OUR forums instead of spamming the MxC thread.
  16. Yes, the server is online :)
  17. I'm sorry this isn't your cup of tea. All players can obtain 3rd class buffs if they level a buffer. The premium account system, which allows a player to obtain 3rd class buffs from the npc buffer, is here so that we do NOT have to offer over-powered donations (I.E. weapon/armor/enchants). Servers cost a lot of money, and I absolutely hate OP donations; This is our way to stop OP donations but still gain enough money to keep the server running. PS: We do not offer "improved buffs" on the npc buffer so players will benefit from leveling a buffer.
  18. Where you port in is not all of the mobs. If you follow the road up and around a turn you will run into this hude field with pyramids (crypts) in it, tons of mobs there.
  19. Yes, I am American. I live in the state of South Carolina. I have not decided what the beta reward is, I have been coding the SoDA champion loot drops (each player has their own loot and loot chance when the champion is killed). However, you will be able to claim the beta reward at the server manager once we are live. Architek is my pro photoshop guru, so there is no real need for the community to make a banner unless it's just for the community to have a competition. Good idea.
  20. We have done as much pre-advertisement as possible. This includes 3,000+ players mass emailed, and posts on 50+ forums. Sinnocent has been in charge of our pre-advertisement. Once the server goes live we will be paying for advertisement banners on MxC, Topzone, and Hopzone.
  21. Giran and Aden. Armor shop has armor, weapon shop has weapons, and grocery store has misc items.
  22. I have no problem paying out of pocket for server fees if the donations don't cover it. Also, our custom script zone (SoDA) is just exactly that, a script. It allows for dynamic gameplay, a random champion will spawn ontop of your party out of nowhere. It is a grind and farm zone, but it adds a little fun to it. We have plans to create more script zones and may possibly do the "take your buffs away" in one of them. All very good ideas!
  23. Exp is 15x and with vitality 4 it's 35x.
