Το ζευγάρι ξεγελούσε τα θύματα του μέσω ενός παγιδευμένου προγράμματος που παρουσιαζόταν σαν βοήθημα για την ενίσχυση των δυνατοτήτων και των χαρακτηριστικών των game characters, ενώ στην πραγματικότητα έκλεβε τα account names και τα passwords. Υπολογίζεται πως εκατό παίκτες έπεσαν θύματα της απάτης που έφερε έσοδα € 8900, από την πώληση εικονικών αντικειμένων που χρησιμοποιούνται στο παιχνίδι. Οι εγκέφαλοι της απάτης πιστέυεται πως γνωρίστηκαν στο Lineage II και έστησαν την απάτη μέσω ενός website που έδινε το addon για το παιχνίδι. Οι κατηγορίες που αντιμετωπίζουν είναι της παράνομης πρόσβασης σε υπολογιστή και μπορεί να καταδικαστούν σε ένα χρόνο φυλάκιση και χρηματικό πρόστιμο.
