[Help] How to get ride of "Letters" without loosing the background?

I started with PS today. Got PS Extended CS5

 

Okay, I made 2 signatures (1 with sofakis and 1 with Blanes guide)

 

So i made this 2 signatures and saved them. When i uploaded them I noticed I made a spell misstake in it on the text >.>

 

So i went back on PS and used the eraser to get ride of the text but it erases the background too where the text was added.

 

 

Is there any way to get ride of the text without loosing the background or do i have to start all over again from new?

u must save it 1 with as a psd file and 1 with jpeg

I got the 2 signatures saved as  1 .psd and 1 .png file

 

So it is possible right, to remove the text without loosing the background?

Load the .psd file and then go to layer palet and delete the text layer. Then make a new one and done ! ;)

Save as png

[unqART]

create new file in BG contents : Transparent

and safe the file to .png
