Nah, just don't use smooth with your text. Use sharp or none, this will make it pixel and not smoothing, so it won't blur :)

Well the best one is photoshop.

 

But in order to make a crest in the resolution that the crests ,either for the clan or tha ally ,must be is too small. So you will "destroy" the photo by converting it in the apropriate resolution. So if you want to make a crest take a small photo and take a small part from it , (that you will like) and convert it in the resolution tha you want.
