Format xD

This will probably not solve the problem. It has something to do with BIOS.

1st try to remove any excessive usb , use only the standard usb's:

- Keyboard

- Mouse

Try only with them and post back here feedback.

Also tell me the brand name of your motherboard , the one it shows before it loads the BIOS and on the BIOS screen.

Remove any front panel USB header plugs from MB or media card readers

Update BIOS

Go to Older BIOS rev.

Update USB drivers from Asus CD

@stealth i will try

Motherboard: Asus p5q premium rev 382.01

tried only with mouse and keyboard but still nothing

Can you run it with Safe Mode ?

He said he can't even open his computer.

There is something wrong with the usb ports on his computer probably , maybe one or more ports are destroyed.

@Mace if you tell me your motherboard brand name I can help you more, thanks.

Edit: Ok I saw it , give some minutes.

You probably need to remove these ports from your computer or isolate them.(I have no idea how to do that btw , you need to ask a computer engineer.

Hovewer I found these solutions:

http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&id=20060616210350970&board_id=1&model=P5WD2%20Premium&page=2&count=11

Most of the problems were caused by something called jumpers.I remember having seen this on BIOS something with jumperfree configuration , but I am not sure.

If I was on your situation , I would play around with the motherboard since I don't have a lot of money to spend on engineers , but I suggest that if you are not sure about it don't try to mess around with motherboard because yours is expensive. You should better get your pc checked somewhere when you have time.
