[GUIDE] HOW TO REMODEL ITEMS IN AION

Aion offers us many opportunities for customization - you can create your character for hours and ever finish it or dye yours hero's armour. What if we think, that our armour is ugly and we want to look sexy, but stats on armour we don't like are better? Fear not! Aion developers thought about these who like to choose model of armours to suit their tastes and therefore offered an option to change the appearance of armor and weapons.

There are a few facts to keep in mind before we start to remodel our gear.

  1. Restrictions

         * Level: Although change in appearance of weapons or armor does not affect the mechanics of the game and did not give any bonus, developers have decided that only characters above level 30 can modify the appearance of their items. Why the 30 +? Nobody knows...

         * Type of items: At the present moment it is not possible to change in appearance between the different types of weapons and armor - you can not remodel mace to look like sword (which is understandable), but also cloth to look like plate, chain like cloth ect. Items can only be changed within a single type - cloth to cloth, chain to chain.

         * Item category: Not every item can give "skin" to another item or be remodelled.

(Sorry can't write "table" on this forum)

Type of item / Can be dyed / Can be remodel (If I do mistake in the information, tell me)

"normal" armors / Yes / Yes

Abyss armors / No / Yes

Draconic armors / No / Yes?

Daevanion armors / Yes / No

           weapons - "normal" / No / Yes

Daevanion weapons / No / No

(not sure about Abyss and Draconic weapons)

           Shields / Yes / Yes

           (not sure about Abyss shields)

           Accessories - earrings / No / Yes

           Accessories - hats / Yes / Yes

           Accessories – necklace / No / ?

           Accessories - belt / No / No

  2. Good to know before you start to remodel items

         * Superimposed dye: If item on which we want put new skin is dyed, its colour will be lost after remodelling (item will have colour of the "skin" after). But if you first apply dye on "skin item" and then put it on item you want to remodel, then colour will transfer as well.

         * Imposition of the "skin" again and again: If you like particular skin and used it already to remodel item with nice stats, you can take this item and use skin to remodel new item again.

         * What is needed to remodel: Non special item is needed. You only need item which skin you like ("skin donator") and item on which you want to put particular skin. But remember, after the process "skin donator" will be destroyed.

         * "I've seen plate armour which looked like cloth, I want it as well!!!": Unfortunately, this is not possible to take cloth or leather skin and put it on plate or chain ect. because you can remodel only within a single type (cloth -> cloth). There is tho "indirect" method to do so - in the capital of each race is vendor who sells "costumes". One of them has a look of cloth (5-piece set - Eiren (Asmodians) / Stenon (Elyos) ), but as a costume it has no "type" so it can be put on any armour (plate / leather ect.). That's why some people even if they are wearing plate is looking like cloth. Maybe in the future more "looking-like" costume sets will be added.

  3. How to change the appearance

You have to visit NPC in yours race capital city: Asmodians - NPC Keruthis (Pandaemonium), Elyos - NPC Laokones (Sanctum).

     Window will pop up:

1) In the first slot you put item, which stats you want

2) In second one you put item which "skin" you want

3) You have to accept and pay 1000 kinah + current tax

4) Done!

   4. How to restore the original appearance of the item:

It is possible to restore the original appearance of item using Pattern Reshaper - Items - Aion, which can be purchased from NPC. Vendors (Sanctum - NPC Judisina; Pandaemonium - NPC Njomi) are located in the same room as NPC who remodels items.
